How and why was this sold out 15 minutes before published release time. Bad business by the artist. Why send us a release time via his email newsletter and not release at that time? I understand combating resellers but how do real collectors get a chance this way?

Holy moly. 77 results when I searched Daniel Arsham hourglass. Did not go through to check which ones were blue and white, but there are a lot of blue sands.

I know you all are joking but that is the main reason I didn't go for it (especially after the price jump). If you look at the box it shows 8 hourglasses, 2 of which are colored in (white and blue) which logically means there will be 6 more in different colors of sand...

Well spotted. I do like them but glad I didn't purchase, the increase plus postage and vat made it very pricey. If he's going to release 8 versions, potentially could get one for a song if I'm patient.

Received mine yesterday and was having issues with the sand clumping as well. Dropped Arsham studios a line and got this response:

Due to the Hourglass’s sensitivity to humidity, we suggest you place the item in direct sunlight to allow any moisture to evaporate. A gentle, swirling motion can be used to get the sand moving again. 

Hope this helps, got mine sorted fairly quickly.

I haven't, based on the last releases and quality, I'm assuming this will be no different. Looks like it's literally frosted plastic, but for optimism, maybe it's something different. I really don't get the appeal of something like this at all unless you're a die hard arsham fan who loves the Yankees. 

He should do smaller editions priced more with exceptional quality. The hollow figure was such a letdown to me when I had it in hand.
