MBW Watch, by dranfan14 on Jan 9, 2015 22:52:29 GMT 1, You could get a perfect reproduction of a Banksy or Mondrian and hang it instead of a print or an OG , the result would be the same. But of course that's not art... Fine watches aren't about telling time of course, especially since we all have devices all over which tell perfect time. Fine watchmaking is a craft, sometimes an art. If you get a chance to visit a Swiss manufacture, you will feel the hundreds of years of passion, quest for excellence, technical prowess, aesthetics combining form and function etc etc... That makes it even more sad to see Hublot who are fine watchmaker get in bed with this clown... `i've had a few posh watches, rolexes etc when I was chasing happiness through brands. they have all been s**t at keeping time, casio is best for time keeping, argos do good deals fakes? lol never had a rolex but I refuse to believe they are shit at keeping time....

MBW Watch, by Deleted on Jan 10, 2015 1:15:07 GMT 1, Brainwash is a great example of consumerism pandering to the stupid.
The watch company or some other company for that matter doesn't care about Brainwashers artistic skill just in the fact that his name is out there and generates publicity to the general public.
So they team up with him or use him to promote their brand.
If Bambi does a Hollywood show and does enough schmoozing then fashion accessory brands will now doubt hype up her latest Bamboozled watch or product that cashed up ladies and gents would buy.
There was a row a while ago about the Picasso family exploiting the name and sig Picasso on products in that it cheapened his name and image.
No chance of that happening to Brainwash.

Very few automatic watches keep accurate time. Think about the mechanics of it and you would be amazed it could be accurate at all. I've owned several and the Quartz (battery) watches like Omega are just plain easier and more accurate.
Edit - by "accurate" I mean it loses or gains a second or 2 per day and so on. In several months it might be a few minutes behind, but most people don't wear them every day so they don't run continuously anyway. You have to reset the time and don't really notice the change.

To obtain COSC chronometer certification (accuracy rating), the movement of a mechanical watch can gain 6 seconds or lose 4 seconds a day. Most any el cheapo quartz watch will likely be a better timekeeper.
But this is like someone saying they prefer a giclee print from a high resolution digital file versus a hand pulled screen print and saying that the giclee is technically more accurate and flawless. Which would you rather have?
Edit: Just to stay on topic, I'd rather have an AP Royal Oak that's the obvious inspiration for the Hublot and I'd rather not have MBW on anything that I own. I can't believe there's an actual market for the guy's "work".

Not specifically a question posed to you, rather just general and rhetorical. But where we have a passion for art collecting and willing to spend the equivalent of an expensive watch on just a print, there are people who would say they are happy with any store bought poster or anonymous art to stick on their walls as decoration because art don't count. Whatever floats people's boats I guess.

MBW Watch, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Jan 10, 2015 9:17:38 GMT 1, I like my watches and wear a Swiss watch every day and it keeps great time. It's not as expensive as one of these. I'm no fan of Mr Brian wash (been banned twice on here talking about him). but i am really surprised hublot have let him do a limited watch? Suppose you'll get some c list rappers buying them in the US etc. anyone own a normal hublot on here? Suppose to be a great watch?

MBW Watch, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Jan 10, 2015 9:19:55 GMT 1, I think the fact Hublot did a Manchester United watch says a lot about their choice in collaborations. I don't mean any disrespect to Man U fans, it's just that football doesn't really mix with luxury brands. A 'footballer's' watch isn't usually a positive comment.
Wow didn't know this? Not a good look for their brand..

There was a row a while ago about the Picasso family exploiting the name and sig Picasso on products in that it cheapened his name and image. No chance of that happening to Brainwash. I still got my Paloma Picasso sunglasses from '90 I love them Those Paloma Picasso sungalsses look very cool today.
They are worth collecting.
Very funky.
She did other products too and I think she was considered the dark sheep of the Picasso family.

I think he was under the influence of a little Lysergic acid diethylamide when he penned those lines. I currently wear a Omega Seamaster auto which keeps absolutely amazing time but I did have to buy a winder for when I don't wear it to avoid having to reset.
