Possible that what appears to be a teaser actually reflects the condition to some degree. That said, it wouldn't disuade me from bidding if I were interested (I'm not) because restoration to the tune of ~2k GBP can repair 90% of that and more importantly, make certain that it never returns.

Lee - did you notice on the back of GWRB he's signed it with that mysterious cross? (actually looks like a kind of shorthand Union Jack coz it's slightly wider than it is tall)





Wonder if they've split up now and that's why they're selling.

according to Bonhams, the bubblewrap marks cannot be restored

I like the look of the Matt Small and the Neate. One lot more affordable than the other.

Few friends of mine have pieces in there so hope it is a great auction.

same "cross" signature in the Lincoln piece on cardboard, that went on auction early this year.

So the cracking can be restored but the bubble wrap marks cannot. Makes some sense I guess. This is not the first time I have come across artwork being damaged by bubble wrap. So if you do not have all you art on the walls do not store in bubble wrap, be warned.

alas it had nothing to do with it sitting in bubble wrap for ages - again according to bonhams, the canvas was bubbled wrapped while the paint was still a bit wet, so the marks have always been there.

But I do also know that artwork stored in bubble wrap can and does effect certain finishes. It can leave an impression on work that was produced years previously especially heavily varnished works.

Very low estimates to get us all salivating and considering selling houses, wives, kids etc to get in on the bidding. Best line up I've seen in ages, and if lot 1 goes for only £5k I will probably shoot myself for not getting involved.

just curious, never sold anything at an auction before, what are the pros/cons? How do you go about it? Some of things i've put up for sale on the forum haven't sold...curious as to what they would do at an auction but not sure how much they usually take, if you can set a reserve, etc etc...

sellers rates are negotiable, and usually vary between 6-10%

Put in to context if you bought a piece of art via a gallery, you could be liable to VAT which is 20%. So its swings and roundabouts

Some fantastic pieces. Need to take into account that a lot of the Banksy pieces are just test-sprays..if they are regular runs then they would be numbered as such...but, love the HMV's ...
