God only knows why anyone who had been sent one of these by Laz at Banksy's request would want to sell it though! I would let go of all of my prints before letting go of a gift from Banksy!!!

Dont think you should really judge to be honest, you dont know the artist, dont know his situation or financial needs, perhaps he needs the money to finance a family, a kid, funds to keep creating graffiti and artwork??? who knows?
Beejoir gave a gift SBFO Ed.40 to a friend who helped him do some work round London if i remember rightly who sold the print straight away on ebay (after consulting Chris), maybe the artist did the Same with dear old Mr Banks!!!
although i understand what your saying about the gift element but who are we to judge?

I think the post had photo's in it and all. So this could very well be legit. The signature looks spot on.
I've been trying to search for the post for about 10 minutes but the search thing is wubbish. Please post it if someone else manages to find it. Silky ? :-)

not bought one myself but the communication i have had has suggested so. one of the sellers i contacted was said to have a couple of pairs available and has now sold about 5 pairs.
heres one seller whos onto a nice little earner and seems to be increasing the quantity available every auction

These notes are piss easy to copy ( ie, just photocopy them....). A few folk from here have bought and regretted..... unless it comes with decent background / prov, its best to assume they are fake, and then its up to the individual to decide if they want to part with the best part of £200 for a couple of 10p photocoppies.....

Another tell tell is how they got them. He said that Banksy threw them up in the air at Notting Hill, he threw them up in the air at Glastonbury, if memory serves me.
Steer clear of this auction

I dont think POW make it easier either to determine authenticity, because of the lack of provenance, a purchase receipt doesnt give enough evidence of authenticity in my opinion - you also very rarely see buyers get ripped off with other artists like Dface, Nick Walker - simply because the CoA or provenance are literally bombproof and part of the listing process.

This I believe was the only place you could BUY them from.
On the preview day Steve was giving some away to people until some kids tried to start using them as real money........Hence I GUESS why they started to charge for them.
Banksy used some of these tenners on a graf piece he did up on roseberry avenue showing the cashpoint with a few of these STUCK to the wall............He also sent some over the wall at Glastonbury using a leave blower , However most of these got fucked as it was so muddy and I think they drifted over to where the loos where.....Nice.
It was also rumured that he threw some away at Notting hill , but I have never had that confirmed.
The only way to authenticicate these tenners apparently is by the weight of the paper but I have never bothered with mine as I bought them direct
