Letter of provenance by Steve Lazarides is alot stronger then some of the shit that some established members on this forum have offered up in the past, and did they get the same hate? If I was in the market for a tenner, the only qualified provenance I would want is a letter signed by Steve Laz, not from someone who used to work at his gallery. |

If we were to ship 6 boxes of screen prints to the UK, not only is it an insane amount of money where we would have to raise prices but we also risk damaged prints. Plus, artists make their money off their signed copies and I rather that happen.

Congrats on the og purchase but see thats the issue and I think you're missing the point of the release.
I bet you were extremely happy when you purchased that og and got tenners. You purchased from a reputable seller of banksy pieces so we both can imagine its real. I also received one in past like this. However, many don't have that opportunity. I mean if someone really wants an affordable fake one they can just goto Etsy or someone can goto Ebay or Sothebys and bid on one of those hoping they are real.
The point of this release is just to show that these were in the batch of 2004. It's the closest way of authenticating them as possible and thats what makes me excited about this project.

Artist said it was legit but had no knowledge of it and said it shouldn’t have been released. Also heard of them releasing a full run of a print an artist rejected and refused to sign. Has shaded their reputation a bit in my eyes. . Don’t know about the first thing but poor form to throw shade on a “I heard” IMO I’ve had numerous purchases from Arcadium to BN and not only never had issue, their service has been great.

The artist had no knowledge of mystery tubes and was under the belief the reserve prints shouldn’t have been released.

Don’t forget our toy company! And you're 100% correct. Thats what we sell at Bottleneck. We work with basically every major studio on the pop art side and have been open for 7 years. No need to put us down or the artists we work with. We have built something really special here with our fan base where we not only sell what you just wrote but just a wide variety of pieces.
We also collaborated on 3 other projects (UTBNYC, Mecka, and Arcadium) where we have worked with a wide variety of artists and their studios (Dolk, Phlegm, Penny, Pez, Jerkface, Cost, Enx, Nemos, Martha Cooper, Roamcouch, Judith Supine, Swoon, Rae, David De La Mano, Bisser, Icy and Sot, Fintan Magee, Zed, Super A etc) on releases and sold out shows. Yea someone mentioned something like this yesterday on Fb. So if I worked with an artist 5 years ago and we parted ways, I automatically lose affiliation with those projects I worked on?
And this is a Banksy piece and we aren't the first ones to sell them. Galleries sell them all of the time and right now as we speak there are 4 pending Heritage auctions. As banksy pieces.

To each his own. This is something we have been working on and being collectors ourselves its just something nice to be a part of as mentioned above and it just happened to come around a nice time. If someone had been looking for a tenner, we are just saying this is better then going to ebay blind.

haha after all the above why didn't you say so? this is the one tabby print? He messaged us last year about this particular issue and it was cleared up. It was when he did the hand embellishments and we think it got stuck together to another print and we didn't catch it. Thats our fault 100%. After that email, we made sure there was nothing else like that in the flat file.
I have a screen shot of our conversation which after being harassed for a few months by a few people in his group was posted. Can message his manager Howie for it who understood the situation as well. And if you messaged us and I didn't respond Im sorry about that. I did lol, in my original post I mentioned my experience and then brought up the Shang hearsay. Didn’t want to bring any names into it, wouldn’t have named Shang either if it wasn’t done prior. Didn’t want to bring them into something potentially questionable. But good to hear it was an honest mistake. You guys are good in my book

Now that you mention it, there’s a tiny spot on the print where some spray has been peeled off. Bet that’s where it got stuck to the print above it 😂

yea im pretty positive thats what happened. I don't think we let it dry enough when he came to Brooklyn to spray.
