Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by jp on Mar 29, 2018 20:12:36 GMT 1, Doubt that will worry him anymore, how many urban artists don't deface banknotes these days ? Doubt it worried him or any other artist in the first place. I was merely commenting on your statement about prosecution. It really seems like it did worry him based on the article Bren posted yesterday, and for good reason.
"Banksy, known for his satirical and subversive street art, created a large quantity of the Princess Diana notes in August 2004, a roll of which was reportedly thrown into the crowd at the Notting Hill Carnival and at the Reading Festival that year. Some of these bills were used by festival-goers as actual currency, prompting Banksy to cease distribution.
In Banksy’s film Exit Through the Gift Shop, Banksy speaks to the fact that after the incidents at the festivals, he realized he had forged around £100,000,000, nearly all of which remain in his possession."
The difference between this scenario and other artists who have defaced banknotes is that Banksy's notes were actually mistaken for real currency and used (big problem), and the sheer amount of notes that he printed.

It did worry him initially, that was clear, they were stacked in the studio for 5 years.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by kjg on Apr 3, 2018 19:28:53 GMT 1, I got in contact with Nicolas from Dope Gallery and he told me, after I sent him some pictures, that it looks good to him. That is as close as I will get to a COA, I think :-)

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Lunch Special on Apr 3, 2018 19:56:14 GMT 1, Ok, thanks for all your answers so far. I contacted Laz who immediately answered. But he is referring to POW. And as we all know POW doesn't hand out COA's for Di Faced Tenners. So I am kind of stuck here. If there is any gallery out there who wants to help me out by comparing my Tenner(s) to one on a Banksy COA, and wants to write that down on a sheet of paper, please let me know. Did you let the member you bought it from that you planned on selling it in the future or have you offered it back to him as of yet? Would seem only right. Sorry not sorry I only read up to this post in the thread

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by kjg on Apr 3, 2018 20:01:30 GMT 1, No, I didn’t. Should I? I thought they were mine because I bought them. But maybe you are right and I should sell them back to him.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by iamzero on Apr 3, 2018 20:29:12 GMT 1, You could have a hand signed letter from Santa and it wouldn’t be any closer to a genuine COA, so just because Nick says they’re good it means nothing dude.

So not very close, I think.
Buy a Banksy, you will get a COA with half of a real tenner.

They're fantastic though. Enjoy yours. I have a couple of real ones and a couple of fakes, and they're all fantastic.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by skAcid on Apr 26, 2018 10:39:14 GMT 1, What do you mean by pest control COA ? www.pestcontroloffice.com/whatispco.html
Pest Control is a handling service acting on behalf of the artist BANKSY.
We answer enquiries and determine whether he was responsible for making a certain piece of artwork and issue paperwork if this is the case. This process does not make a profit and has been set up to prevent innocent people from becoming victims of fraud.
Please be aware that because many Banksy pieces are created in an advanced state of intoxication the authentication process can be lengthy and challenging. Pest Control deals only with legitimate works of art and has no involvement with any kind of illegal activity.
SALES
Pest Control is now the sole point of sale for new work by Banksy, of which there is currently something/nothing available.
Banksy is not represented by any other gallery or institution. All enquiries and complaints should be directed to the address below.

If it's not Lazarides or Pictures on Walls, you might have a tough time with it. No one else can really authenticate a signed Banksy item... unless provenance is bullet proof... maybe!?
