Hi guys,

I recently bought a Di-Faced tenner off e-Bay (I know what you're thinking already, but hear me out)!

I'd never really seen one this kind of colour before, the note itself was much more contrasted in comparison to others I'd seen before and had a more obvious olive hue to it. The seller was just a normal person, not one of these people who just sell fakes online for money. She'd actually been to Dismaland and claimed that she found the tenner in one of the Dismaland Maps that were handed out in the park. I made a deal with her and she also included a fair few items from Dismaland, including a map, a copy of her e-ticket and other pieces from different artists. This really reassured me that it was more likely to be authentic than a copy.

It arrived today, and I also bought a loupe to check it out in further detail! However, I'm not seeing any honeycomb pattern through the loupe, which is making me doubt it! The story seems really legitimate, I know people fake these stories and say that they 'caught a handful at the carnival' but I do believe her story.

Could anyone shed any light?

I bought two Di Faced Tenners from a well respected member on here. Thanks again for this opportunity!

One will be proudly on display in my mancave. As I am planning to maybe maybe sell the other one in the near future, I would like to ask you guys if there is any way to get a COA of other proof of that these are real Tenners.

I know for sure they are real ones, but I am asking myself how to convince other people who want to buy one and don’t trust me without a COA. I know POW won’t give me a COA, but maybe there are other possibilies.

Your advice is most welcome!

If you have a Banksy COA for another print, with half a Di Faced Tenner attached, you can compare them to prove they're real.
Nothing else as far as I know.

If your selling them here, the fact it came from you who got them from another well respected member should be sufficient but that’s just me. Short of that all you can do is compare them to COA’s or maybe a tenner with Lazarides provenance, he has a stash of them.

Ok, thanks for all your answers so far. I contacted Laz who immediately answered. But he is referring to POW. And as we all know POW doesn't hand out COA's for Di Faced Tenners.

So I am kind of stuck here.

If there is any gallery out there who wants to help me out by comparing my Tenner(s) to one on a Banksy COA, and wants to write that down on a sheet of paper, please let me know.

The ones from Laz that has the letter of provenance is because Mr Laz himself donate them for charity auctions, I know this cause the ones I have ( from Laz ) and I did inquired a while back about getting this letter of provenance.

As others mention before the best way is to compare to the COA of a print, or check the thread about

Just out of interest are you looking to simply compare your two notes to a known genuine note for peace of mind or are you trying to get someone to authenticate these in writing to maximise your potential profit when or if you sell on?

Both. I definitely will keep one (just bought a acryl magnet frame for it) and maybe sell the other one. The prices paid in the auctions the last few weeks are rather tempting. And when I decide to sell the other one a proof of authenticity would come in quite handy.

Maybe Lionel gallery in Amsterdam can help you. They may still have a framed tenner up on the wall (they did a few months ago). Maybe its still there. Also they must have a bunch of COAs lying around somewhere for their prints.

No Coas so you will pretty much be trading / selling on trust & reputation.
I personally have my original till receipt ....... unfortunatly it is fading fast

Wow! I bought one about 10yrs ago on eBay for £25. Checked it against my coa, It was a copy, so badly done colours were really orange. Always wanted to buy another still do but really cautious now.
