A few years ago my wife bought me a piece for Xmas which when I posted on the OEF I was told it was a fake. It got cut up and binned and I chased the money back for her and got it.
How would you have felt if I sold it onto you?
New people join up on here and WK every day looking for help and guidance on where to buy Banksy's and what to look out for. You should want to help these people avoid any 'pitfalls' not be looking to sell onto them cos it just 'didnt feel right'.
Shame. I am surprised how you have handled yourself.

I have a signed trollys that I was selling but was not sure about its originality due to not having a Pest Control Cert but it had everything else with it to show it was legit (this was nothing to do with the person who sold it to me, it was my own worry and for the record the person who sold it was very good to deal with and honest). So I pulled the listing from e-bay later last year. I did not want to knowingly rip off anyone (if it was not original) and have to live with the fact that I had done so.
Anyway I have checked with POW and it is all ok so now I’m selling it again.
After saying that 100% of the people I have dealt with on e-bay, here and WK have always been spot on and honest.

Selling something on which you know to be counterfeit / fake is in effect an offence.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by daveart on Feb 22, 2010 17:31:35 GMT 1, having been caught up in the purchase of fake art once i have to comment on this thread.. the police in the US were very clear that should i pass along this piece of art in the future for really ANY amount of money over the cost of a big sheet of paper i would be just as liable as the idiot that sold it to me. by the way this guy was apparently scamming lots of people and went to jail for some time period. this thread being about a relatively small amount of money probably falls under the radar of a big court case -- but its still sad for sure -- my thought would be - people rarely just scam one person and people taking the time to fake a piece of artwork can just as surely fake a COA. at some point it comes to trust and due diligence. on some other forums i follow there is a great saying " buy the seller" ie. pay more for something from someone you can trust. sad but true.
