Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Hoops on Mar 15, 2008 21:24:57 GMT 1, It is not listed as "di face tenner" but is listed by a unique code number for that item..... everything else was listed by what it was ie radar rat , napalm etc , so if you kept your till receipt then that would be good enough for me...
..The only difference is that any prints bought would be registered to Santas Ghetto and not by name whilst the tenners are not registered anywhere as by definition they are NOT LIMITED so in theory they could keep reprinting them whenever they liked .
I would say that nearly all of the ones being sold on ebay are Fakes ..especially when the same member keeps selling them.
I bought a load of these at the show and over the years have sold most of them off .........I doubt very much that anyone would have held on to loads them to start selling now.
Unless the guy who bought the briefcase full of them for £10000 has decided to split the work off and sell them off individually
Oh and as I said they where also being palmed off straight after the preview as Steve told me when he was showing me some pieces that I was buying from him the next day at Santas

I believe it was only one briefcase that contained £100,000 in di tenners.Laz showed me this at scrutton st,but they were a little cagey over selling at the time as legally it was seen as counterfeit money ( they were trying to have it recognised as art before selling).The paper used was heavy ,far heavier than the photoCOPYS that i have seen.

I think these were given out free at the 2006 Ghetto, so basically make sure the seller has a receipt for something from there and try not to pay too much, as it's a high risk purchase. Also you could avoid people that seem to have already sold these, especially multiples. Good luck.

Don't know what a photocopy would look or feel like, or who could examine it to give an expert opinion, but I enjoy it, and I like to believe it's the real thing. When I want to sell it I would do so honestly and buyers take the same risk I did.
I emailed Dora at POW about the number issued, and she said there is no way of knowing because they were sent out with Santa's Ghetto invitations (not sold), thrown in the crowd by someone (Banky himself?) at the Notting Hill festival and stuck to the wall on a stencilled cashpoint. I've also seen pictures of bundles of the notes in a suitcase in a gallery somewhere.
If you look on ebay you will see sellers with a history of listing many, many notes, and others with just one like the seller I bought from, who seemed more likely not to be printing them himself but who knows? Buy if you like it and pay what you can afford (or borrow on interest-free credit like me!) I love mine, but I haven't gone so far as to buy two, to display front and back, I've got an acrylic frame that swivels round!

go to Notting hill and go into newsagents/off licenses, and see if any still have them stuck on their walls, because when POW threw them up in the air at the Carnival, most people thought they were real and tried to spend them in the shops - so you might get lucky!

It's a funny concept really. Even if you have the slightest suspicion that the note you've bought is fake, there's still a chance it's an original.. And the enjoyment you get from the print framed is the definition of art really..

but personally I wouldn't buy something like this off ebay
