CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by Johnnyroyale on Dec 12, 2014 10:00:23 GMT 1, If its is the same print then the last price was circa ยฃ1500-you be better off selling via jealous gallery-they could also appraise damage and value it accordingly. Currently mint prints are circa ยฃ3500 an imperfect print may sell better via jealous

CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by iamzero on Dec 12, 2014 15:56:48 GMT 1, That maybe in a gallery it they're not selling for that if they're still there? This print sold twice if I remember rightly, both times for about ยฃ1600... I'd have to check my account. Other Panda boys hover around ยฃ2k at the minute.

CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by tschero on Dec 13, 2014 16:33:12 GMT 1, Have they come quiet a bit back since the LA shoe. Remember after it ther was a bit of a hype and things were offered at 4-3.5k?? Obiviously offered no guarantee for a actual sale.

By shill bidding and pulling the auction when it doesn't fetch what you want.
Although I haven't spoken to him for a couple of years, the eBay seller in question is closely connected with Charming Baker.
He will have either purchased the prints himself, or been (at least partly) paid in prints in lieu of a salary for his substantial work with the artist.
The comment by iamzero is pure speculation dressed up as a factual statement.
When people say or write things without knowing what they're talking about, or without taking different possibilities into consideration, it doesn't usually matter. However, when someone's integrity is attacked online in such a casual and irresponsible way, it's defamatory. That's when things become regrettable.

Fair enough....but why would the same exact print be offered multiple times within the past 6 months....all listed as SOLD...yet it is still available?
If this wasn't a shill bid situation, what are the other possibilities? I am genuinely curious.

If this wasn't a shill bid situation, what are the other possibilities? I am genuinely curious. From the eBay listing titles in the feedback, there appears to have been two different images sold: one copy of Half Pint, and three copies of Half Pint NYC.
You mention "the same exact print" being offered multiple times. On what basis do you believe it's the same print, i.e. with the same edition number?
In the case of Half Pint NYC, it seems more likely that different prints were sold, albeit from the same edition. [And it wouldn't surprise me if the seller still had a few more copies from the edition in his portfolio.] Going by their different feedback scores, it also looks like each of the three auction winners for Half Pint NYC was a separate buyer.
None of this suggests to me that shill bidding took place.
Separately, regarding eBay sellers who do shill bid and accidentally win their own auctions, they won't usually leave themselves feedback โ since it would make reclaiming final value fees from eBay (after opening a 'cancel the transaction' case) all the more difficult.

So, you suggest this seller has had 3 different # Half Pint NYC prints and 1 Half Pint print sold last year. Unlikely, but for arguments sake and because we can't see the older sales, I will accept that. Why is it then that the last one that supposedly sold, the damaged copy, was listed here after the auction had ended? The exact print that started this thread....fact. The damage was identical. Seeing as this damaged print "sale" is knowingly fake....the seller still has the item to sell....this leads me to believe that the oder sales were faked as well. I also know for a fact that this exact damaged copy is still being offered for sale........asking price is ยฃ3200.

CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by iamzero on Feb 3, 2015 11:36:00 GMT 1, How'd the sale of Bird i work out for them? Very cheap... No pun intended. I would've put in a bid but knowing there's no way the seller would've allowed it to be sold for way less than perceived market value it would've been a waste of time. I've bid on previous half pints that supposedly sold and reappeared. If the seller is so closely connected I wonder if it would be easier to sell them through Jealous and be done with it.

CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by iamzero on Feb 3, 2015 15:08:21 GMT 1, I don't think that's in doubt. It's the fact that the same item items are relisted when they don't reach a desired price. Just set a reserve so we all know where we stand. I have bid on items from this seller only to see them get pulled or 'sold' and then relisted. No big deal just frustrating as you can't honestly tell me that Bird print that finished Sunday evening left his folder for ยฃ430. I'd have bid higher than that if I had any confidence in SP.

No response.

CHARMING BAKER - HALF PINT NYC - OIRO ยฃ2.5K, by Shoeless on Mar 5, 2015 8:27:45 GMT 1, After being harassed for the past few months, I am giving in. A member named elmango has insisted that I publicly apologize for my opinions (and facts) stated here regarding this seller. Apparently, I am a knob and don't know what Im talking about nor am I permitted to express my opinions on this sale. I wasn't aware an ebay seller would have such a persistent PR manager, or thug. So there it is. Other members be warned....if you express your opinions or any relevant facts to the ebay seller "signorpappa", you will be harassed to withdraw your posts and apologize for your actions.
