Banksy Flag Raffle , by beatztom on Dec 28, 2014 14:26:08 GMT 1, Merry Christmas everyone and happy holidays.
Just wanted to inform you guys that there has been a minor setback in my Banksy framing project. Frame I bought was about 2 mm too small. It is a 50 cm x 70 cm frame, whereas the print is ever slow so slightly longer . Obviously it would've been a damn shame to trim the print or to force it in ;-)
I promise to post a picture as soon as I find a proper frame!
Cheers!

Get the print to the framer mate, don't try and frame it yourself. This print is very delicate and very easily damaged.

Thanks for your concern guys! My girl is used to handling art of much greater value, prints included. Personally I've already assisted her on some jobs and have manual experience with delicate work in my own job so really no worries we know what we're doing. Rest assured this piece is being treated with the utmost care and respect. It's currently lying flat in between 2 large sheets of permanent ph neutral paper in a hard folder.
As for the uv glass... One day when we have more means but for now we live in Paris. It's a grey city, and we don't have direct sun or even much light at all penetrating into our home. The Banksy will be hung accordingly where it's least likely to be damaged by what weak light we actually get: currently very little...
With all due respect, thanks!
PS, don't worry, we've access to ph neutral paper (thanks to my girls job)! PSS. We know how to float it if we liked (reversible) and might end up doing that... A bit more work and we don't have everything we need so probably float it at a later date.

Banksy Flag Raffle , by Nick on Dec 29, 2014 10:23:36 GMT 1, It sounds like you will be placing the print in the frame and closing it up. You really don't want this touching the glass! My advice is to either float now or to buy a frame bigger and have a mount cut if you must do it yourself!

No worries we know about art not touching the glass! There will be a ph neutral passe-partout. I presume that's what a mount cut is, sorry I left England in my teens and my French vocabulary has become more dominant!

Good to know you know what you are doing! Especially with this print (do not touch the print with bare hands, your fingerprints will be on the print forever!)
Looking forward to seeing the end result mate! One cracking print!!!

Thanks for the fingerprint tip mate! We had noticed that it's a pretty delicate print, it wasn't in perfect mint condition on arrival (though still in good shape) so we've been extra careful every time we sneak a peak at it ;-)
