BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by Dungle on Jul 8, 2014 4:52:52 GMT 1, Pathetic muppets. Has BNE ever re-donated any of the money to another charity? Man, he really made out good if not. The scary part is how much Invader still supports BNE. My correspondence with Invader back on June 3rd. ANIMAL: Now that the scam has been exposed, will you still work with BNE?Invader: "I can't say, it depends on what project he asks me to collaborate to but, if I don't, it won't be because of this pseudo collaboration between him and Banksy which is not a big deal to me." ANIMAL: Why did you collaborate with him in the first place on the tees if he was only giving 20% to Charity Water? Had you dealt with that organization direct, they would have gotten 100%.Invader: "I am impressed by his work, his stickers are everywhere I go since years. Furthermore, Shepard who is one of the most honest artist I know was on board. Then, it was for a charity with a good cause. 20% of the sales doesn't look that low to me once you have deducted the production and logistic costs and time and energy to do it. If every company was giving 20% of their benefice to charity, the world would be very different... I have already donated 100% of the sales of a product that I sold myself to a charity (the Katmandu map) but this cost me personal money, in fact I gave all the sales income + put my personal money in organizing the sales and producing the items. Not everybody can do so, most charity events costs lots of money, therefore it is very very rare that 100% of the sales go to the designated charity." +++ I like Invader's work, but he seems sort of imbecilic or just very naive. Suddenly, Mr. Brainwash being his cousin makes so much sense. I actually think those responses from invader are fair enough, and I can't stand BNE.

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by Deleted on Jul 8, 2014 5:19:13 GMT 1, I still can't believe there were so many on this board who defended BNE and went thru with this purchase.
I can't believe that BNE screwed up his whole entire reputation on this latest charity/tee thing....
Dumbfounded......

Thank you for the above Q&A. Sounds like you had a good opportunity to get Invader's viewpoint.
It would be interesting to hear whether you were able to ask additional questions about the scam itself:
1. Invader may have been a bit oblivious. Could it be that he only saw the Banksy episode as a collaborative project announced prematurely, before agreement was reached and with talks later collapsing, i.e. focussing on the public embarrassment aspect?
In other words, perhaps Invader was fed half-truths and manipulated into dismissing the debacle as just a clumsy but honest mistake arising from BNE's over-keenness. What Invader might have failed to see (or not allowed himself to see) was the actual fraud β the lies, deceit, and abuse by BNE of people's goodwill and trusting nature to line his pockets under the protective cloak of a charitable cause.
βWere you able to press Invader further on the above, and his specific reasons for it being "not a big deal"?
2. What were his thoughts on the concerns raised by fans about the number of Invader t-shirts sold by BNE, in what had been advertised as a limited edition of 100? How was he able to get comfort that no more than 100 were indeed sold?
3. Did Invader have any comment regarding Faile's unsuccessful effort to address the fraud concerns in relation to their own t-shirts by producing certificates of authenticity?
4. Were you also able to speak with Faile for their side of the story? And with Shepard Fairey?
5. Any luck with PayPal in finding out how many hundreds or thousands of t-shirts ended up being purchased? Or how much money BNE actually made through this charity scam?

BNE πΊπΈ BNE Was Here β’ Stickers β’ Street Art, by barryh on Jul 8, 2014 6:14:05 GMT 1, Feel sorry for those who never found out this scam wasn't a Banksy collaboration. If you weren't connected on social media or one of the forums then you would never have known, as there weren't any emails or other communications about it. At least those who stuck with it even knowing the background realise they took a calculated risk.
I think the chances if buying, without being 'connected' on social media are pretty slim. If day 95% went to people who picked up on this from forums.

I paid 100 $ for an ordinary tee ! +BNE is a big scammer and a robber ! Can't see the pic on its IG. He blocked me or he took it off ( because hundreds of claims ) ?

the font on the tee seems tiny.
not with a bang but a whimper.

I got a refund early on but if they are aware of the issue they may well he holding funds back.

A lot of us, including me, bought this TEE cause this was supposed to be a banksy collab and this was not. Then the guy asked to wait 2 month (or more I don't remember the release date) for delivery and he just wrote a sentence on a tee?! Come on! All that wait for that?! I did like BNE but now I do not anymore and I feel sorry for the ones who paid $80 for this and were waiting for something a bit stronger! You will tell me that it's part of the game of buying an unrevealed tee but this sentence is s**t and it just looks like a bad "revenge" against banksy! That's sad...

"About the tee: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. The Collaborative T-Shirt is NOT a Banksy Tee, it is a BNE Tee. We will be using a different factory to speed things up. So, the info that appeared on our site previously is no longer valid. We cannot deliver the same tee that was promised on March 22. We will start to ship orders out on July 1st. You will not see artwork until tees are delivered."
Some nice happy customers too. www.facebook.com/BNEorganics
"Just got my BNE shirt in the mail after waiting three months. I am incredibly underwhelmed. No graphic, no artwork, just a quote in which you spelt Banksy incorrectly. Was it too much to ask to double check spelling BEFORE you sent them out? Looks like you may have spent all of one week creating these tees."
twitter.com/bne
The instagram has some nice BNK art
instagram.com/bnedotorg
I don't think people are concerned about it not being a colab with Banksy and not getting a Banksy T.
I think people were aware of that before ordering the other T's advertised for sale and are not happy with the service and contant moving of goal posts.
