Also realised that each time I've looked at the image I've assumed the S in tshirt was a $ sign. just realised its not.

BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by Deleted on Dec 30, 2014 14:36:29 GMT 1, I don't get the attraction for someone who just slaps stickers with the letters BNE on everything? Is it some kind of underground philosophy at work? There again, I've seen worse s**t in the Tate Modern and Turder prize. Thats just silly mate ... forget his stickers (Which are EVERYWHERE btw) for a moment. And let's forget his latest actions also.... Just for half a minute! #forget_mode_on BNE is one of the biggest 'rollers' i know.... And he painted spots where no one could even get to... Let alone paint... #forget_mode_off Now let's get back to his silly action with his t-shirts and print.... where can I see his amazing art?

What a great question, the question of this interminalbe serie ( as Dallas was, no end at all ) ! Thanks hxfour. I think that we are all agree to answer, here, briefly : NOTHING.
Tees ( even not limited ) , goodies, a fake awful print ( sorry, I d'ont want to be naughty ) with a tee and scissors.... BNE is a commercial bizness man, knowing a lot about the web and how to dupe people. We called them Yippies by the past.
To Shadynasty It is fun to watch fools separate themselves from their money sometimes. Especially in this case.
Where and how can you find fun in this story. It s pathetic.Somes - like me - were ready to buy this print because of this man playing witht th ename of #banksy , #nobanksy, etc.. palyiong with the doubt... I am not rich man. Some bopught this pirnt and were not rich too.

In many cases, the art market preys on the FOMO. The majority of discussion on these boards is value, albeit speculative value. BNE played hopeful investors. Other galleries and artists do the same. Like GP's OUTIS fiasco, or the whole Mr. Brainwash thing.
Is that enough of a connection for you?
Why so defensive?

In ALL cases of art, you purchase a piece (or print) based on a few facts, #1 should usually be an emotion you receive by looking at it. See what I did there? You LOOK at the artwork, then you make a decision about it. In BNE's case, he robbed the buyer of that emotion, twice. Those that fell for it the first time, were under the impression they'd be getting something from a very promising artist, but never saw what it was. The second time, they didnt believe their eyes, and were hopeful it was something else based on some pretty shady marketing tactics.
This NEVER happens in art. Ever.
Therefore, I dont believe the antics of BNE have anything to do with the art market at all. Also, his shenanigans reached a tiny percentage of art lovers, the majority of whom had no idea who he was as a graffiti artist, but loved the artist he was hashtagging. My guess is, in 5 years you wont hear the name BENET or BNE anymore.
Sad, but true.
The urban contemporary art market however, has no signs of slowing down any time soon. Ask anyone.

BNE ๐บ๐ธ BNE Was Here โข Stickers โข Street Art, by Deleted on Jan 4, 2015 0:11:34 GMT 1, The art market is definately rigged in some ways and artists are taken up by galleries and dealers who push up prices by finding investors.
Thats why there is so much shit sold for lots of money as it is sold purely as an investment as opposed to paintings of trees horses and cats and art which people buy for decoration.
No one cares if people bought the BNE merchandise and prints to flip or to line the budgies cage.
The merchandise was sold on the basis of raising money for charity and a percentage of sales would go to the water charity.
That is a contract.
The story goes that the water charity refused the money and then BNE would have a choice.
Refund the money refused by the charity to the buyers of the merchandise or donate that money to another similar charity.
and publish proof of everything.
Where the charity money has gone.
If the thinking is that after long enough people will just forget about this whole charity water thing and the money raised for charity.
That might happen, or it might not.
