I try the traduction on google ( hem ) :
" La Salle Mariana Palais Bourbon has been enriched by a new representation , Wednesday, January 21 . Amidst the collection of busts, the newcomer out of place , as its creator, American graffiti artist JonOne , came to present wearing a jacket covered in neon lettering in the middle of deputies and guests in costumes and strict suits.
The work, entitled Liberty, Equality, Fraternity , is a reinterpretation of Liberty Leading the People, Eugène Delacroix, how street art on a large canvas of nearly two meters by three meters . His presentation was preceded by a short making off where the French artist graffer currency you see on all the white surface of the painting with blue paint and then to color some parts in red, prior to enrich the national colors other colors . The final stage of the composition was revealed by the unveiling of the painting : the artist has revealed Delacroix's allegory by an inverted stencil effect, having covered its composition except white silhouettes of the famous painting . "Freedom" doubly symbolic
JonOne American of Dominican origin born in Harlem, is installed for nearly thirty years in Paris. This pioneer of street art from 51 years to the very youthful allure started in the world of teenage graffiti by tagging on walls and subways of New York. Insert this urban culture at the heart of the Republic was symbolic , recent events further exacerbate the subject:
" This painting was commissioned from the artist before the heinous barbaric attacks of 7 January , and before the day of 11 January , which saw the spirit of freedom , the desire for freedom , to storm the streets of France , in our cities , our neighborhoods wherever beat a citizen of heart , "said the president of the National Assembly, Claude Bartolone
Canvas and comes for him a "terrible moment, but also the best to show [that] Freedom", which shows, according to the elected socialist, "that France fears nothing when it is faithful to the combat heat social ":" it reminds us that France fears nothing and no one and no tyranny when, as seen here, she turns to look at the people, to take orders, and never back down. » the street
Beyond the Republican symbol with JonOne is "street [that] invites the Palais Bourbon", also stressed the elect, who was minister of the city under the Jospin government: "The street its techniques, its means of expression, the street with its beauty. In the street, we want to say things as art, also not yet said. »
Expression of a certain "revolt", "this art," he welcomes the "universal", "won, he has won acclaim at the forefront of the aerosol", further said the deputy PS Seine-Saint-Denis, making passing tribute to the artistic richness of his department. See the President of the Assembly discuss the aesthetics of urgency due to the game of cat and mouse between graffiti artists and police did not lack flavor - like watching the classicism of gilt frame chosen to hang the canvas.
The call for JonOne that, beyond its status as a pioneer of street art and its success as a painter at auctions, is known for its social and charitable commitment, especially for the Fondation Abbé Pierre , is an initiative of Claude Bartolone. The politician had discovered his work there by chance three years in Corsica, before realizing that the workshop of the artist, he wanted to meet, was a few hundred meters from his home to lilac. A fervent admirer of his compositions, the elected describes them as "explosions of colors and feelings, between drunkenness and expressionist abstraction which invites thought and emotion. » "There is a generosity in street art"
For its part, the artist explains that he chose to represent Marianne waving the tricolor as a picture of "Youth, the future hope." He considers himself a member of "a generation that has to fight for freedom, the freedom to create the conditions for a better future, despite the difficulties that many people go through, especially the scourge of poverty. »
When asked if he did not find it a bit strange to see his graffiti in this solemn place, amid the gilt and marble, the artist recalls the foundation of his approach: "If I chose to m express in the street by graffiti was a will to change things, to hear something else, anger, hatred. There is a generosity in street art, and here I see a generosity in both directions: people who do not know graffiti and culture will be able to look at them differently. »
The public will have limited access to the work. In the usual manner tours of the Palais Bourbon, inevitably drastic must be booked at least three months in advance through a deputy. Visits grouped dropper that allow in addition to discover other contemporary art places: Pierre Alechinsky, Vincent Barré, Fabienne Verdier, Walter de Maria and Hervé di Rosa. "
Well, what about offcial street-art comissionned ? It depends by who and, almost all, I really don't know what to think about this... Is this street-art ? I don't think so...

JonOne 🇺🇸 Graffiti • New Print Release • Art For Sale, by Lroy on Jan 21, 2015 22:04:12 GMT 1, Grabbed a Perrier from the work fridge today to find out the label was designed by JonOne... looks like Kobra and Sasu designed some as well. in reality, it's awful..., street-art and advertisementis not great and lookschezo... As a Vermeer per example on yogurts or cake boxes .

These images are scavenged from paulinerebecca, wendellesworld and alponer's Instagram accounts but if anyone's got better photos of the works in-situ then I'd love to see them please:
He's also got an exhibition at Agnès B in September.

But unless I'm missing something, calling him an imbecile is a little over the top yes, maybe sorry. Do you know at what price is the bottle of perfume ( Guerlain is the rarest and elitist perfume in France, the perfume of the high bourgeoise society ) ? 9000 euros !!!! 10 k !!!! I think that we have the right to criticise this kind of marketing !!! Where street-art , art , are becoming merchandising for snobs , even for ikea or Amazon lol ! 10k for a weird and not well realised bottle of perfume !! They are awful , seems like cheap products for Pom Pom girl toilets ! Anyway I have never be fan of Jonone.

JonOne 🇺🇸 Graffiti • New Print Release • Art For Sale, by Matt on Jan 7, 2016 9:26:50 GMT 1, Pat' i agree with you, but only only to some extent.
Collaborations between brands and artists make me cringe. I like art and consumerism to stay well apart (although they are both a business so arguably the frontier is tenuous)
However, Guerlain - like Saint Laurent mentioned in the article- are a bit more than brands, which is why the French call them "Maisons". These Maisons are out do to business, but with a strong focus on creation, upholding very high standards of craftsmanship in what they do, fostering creative talent in their ranks, and keeping certain traditions alive like the art of scent making in this case.
So it sweetens the deal for me vs. say a JonOne Pringles box...
Maybe I am just trying to find a reason to still love JonOne ?
In any case an OG is very high on my wish list but prices are strong, especially in France.

Anyway, I ve benne on the website of le bon Marché, they just tell about exhibition, but they don't speak aoubt sales, goodies etc... Anyway Le Bon Marché , at the contrary of what we could think ( it means " cheap " or " bargain " ) , is an expensive supermarket, a bit " bobo" , and not a Tesco one ! lol

JonOne 🇺🇸 Graffiti • New Print Release • Art For Sale, by Feral Things on Mar 2, 2016 21:16:23 GMT 1, JonOne has three new exhibitions opening across Europe over the course of one week.
'Renaissance' opens at Kolly Gallery in Zürich on 10 March; the work for this show is slightly more experimental and an indication of where his work is heading. 'Predictably Irrational' opens at Wunderkammern Gallery in Milan on 15 March; the work for this show is centered around the conflict between chaos and control which relates to life in general but also has parallels with JonOne's boxing. And I think the most interesting of the shows is 'Masterpieces: 1991 - 2009' which opens at Galerie le Feuvre in Paris on 18 March; the show features a small number of works from over the majority of the period that he's lived in France.
