Nick Walker......, by johnnyh on Aug 29, 2014 18:42:42 GMT 1, Just had a mail from a gallery in Hong Kong and they did crap post on here.
He is doing 3 diff Love Vandal canvasses in unique colours through that gallery. Not cheap mind but have a feeling that's the gallery and Hong Kong rather than Nick.
Nice gallery though and do some good stuff in HK. Slightly off the main gallery areas, quite small as most things are in HK but nice team and do a fair amount of urban/street etcetc

Nick Walker......, by Art Fan 2011 on Aug 29, 2014 19:20:55 GMT 1, He's been out in NYC since April doing street pieces and getting ready for his Oct show. I know some are not fans of the TMA series but id like to see some more, plenty more cities suitable for the TMA treatment! (Or a new version of Vandal Airways, A380 perhaps, so I can finally own one!)

Nick Walker......, by johnnyh on Aug 31, 2014 4:20:49 GMT 1, He gats a lot of knocks but must say although I don't like all that he does. I do like NW. Always spends more time painting in the street than he does doing shows and prints etc. Been around a long time and keeps painting. Think he does his prints etc to fund his lifestyle and painting so good luck to him. Will be interested to see his show

Nick Walker......, by johnnyh on Aug 31, 2014 10:30:27 GMT 1, There you go Thomasmer talking bollocks again pretending your in the know but really it's coming out of your rear. Does plenty of just walls are Nick. So criticise fair enough but do make it factual. Always been a street painter Nick and very wrong to imply otherwise. Yep he does murals etc but as say plenty of street work

Nick Walker......, by Feral Things on Sept 2, 2014 10:31:55 GMT 1, *Painting legal mostly paid for murals is about as street as he gets though. For obvious reasons, I'm not about to identify which pieces were painted illegally but I can think of a whole bunch in recent years. I think the other thing which needs to be borne in mind in relation to Nick Walker is that he's been painting on the streets continually since the early 1980s (and there's very few writers who can say that) and painting in the studio since the early 1990s. At this point in his career, his work obviously isn't going to evolve at the same rate as a younger artist who is still finding their style but his work has always been slowly progressing since he started painting and that still appears to be the case to me. Although he's been working on the TMA theme for 7 or 8 years, this is no different to other artists who revisited themes throughout much of their careers from Rembrandt with his self portraits to Warhol with his Marilyns.

Nick Walker......, by Deleted on Sept 2, 2014 11:00:32 GMT 1, I wish a few more of the younger artists were evolving...
anyway, in every genre there's old artists and they're turning out the same thing they've done for a number of years, for some it works, for some it doesn't, sometimes it makes their skill seem more impressive, for others it just underlines how limited they always were...
you pick and choose really

Nick Walker......, by johnnyh on Sept 2, 2014 20:05:41 GMT 1, 20 years huh, would like to see 20 illegal pieces. Well now who should we listen too Feralthings who is a constant source of good and reliable information or you Thomasmer
the man who claims to have written pr releases and painted walls with Banksy......mmm but no photos of those walls ------------ Thomasmer on Banksy Well I know pretty well, he was quite skint and staying with mutual friends, we were writing press releases before going out painting pieces, hardy very 'street'. Yes he'd painted a lot of wall pieces and produced a few editions but they weren't selling well, and POW was skint.
Read more: urbanartassociation.com/user/18413/recent?page=2#ixzz3CBbBr8My ------ Mind if you were doing pr and painting with Banksy you must have known Nick quite well as well surely ....
me I know neither but don't pretend to either
however here is a butterfly vid with about 10 small street pieces in 3 Mins on one shoot on a trip to Paris. so on that basis he must have done another 10 out with you and Banksy
odd calling out real artists when your a pretend one yourself .
