Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Sept 5, 2014 0:22:15 GMT 1, Just ignore them, then block them. Can you still block specific members? I'm sure we used to have that function on here, but, it disappeared with one of the site upgrades a while back. There are quite a few people who I'd like NOT to have to read at the moment... UmBongo
Yeah you can still block people. I blocked someone a while back when they started lying to people on the forum and were generally so up their own a*** it wasn't funny (apparently they still are according to a few PMs I've got from other members!) - hmm what was their name again? ...can't remember but it was quite random ; ) I don't really like this print but I wouldn't be rude about it and good luck to anyone who got one. I like a lot of Beejoir's stuff but this doesn't personally do much for me.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Poster Bob on Sept 5, 2014 11:16:16 GMT 1, Anyone else noticed less prints hitting the bay at the moment? It's because it's a Beejoir print. Besides the LV print does any of his work sell for a lot as compared to its original, purchase price? It sounds like these ended up in the hands of people who want them for their homes which is a great and exceedingly rare event.

Agree, it's nice to think these have actually gone to people who want them....a few might even make the wall
I didn't see many of the Ernest Zacharevic prints go up on the bay either though. Would like to think that maybe the secondary market is calming down a bit.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Lroy on Sept 7, 2014 9:36:17 GMT 1, I will be maybe naรฏve, and my question should seem silly for a lot of collectorrs ( and/or lovers ) of Beejoir. I don't know why there is so much interest aorund this print ?! Because ( as said the creator of this thread ) " Such a great remix of Hirst " ? Because of Hirst ( we can decline his coloured points at the infinite - I know some artists - great or not, a lot - that have already done it ) ? At least this print won't shock anybody, she is very well decorative. But I am sure that I am wrong for all of you. Sorry. But I think we can discusss.
ps : Is Hirst loved because he is Hirst or because he is the mate of Mister B ? Have a nice suynday all !

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Lroy on Sept 7, 2014 11:07:24 GMT 1, Well, I don't know really Wiz. I live far away from England, Bristol, etc... I just read some articles about that ( as this one below ) and hear some " rumors " ( I know, I know, only rumors ) from other artists...
www.streetsworth.com/2013/11/is-damien-hirst-behind-banksy-machine.html
To Jaytown : why this interest so for the Beejoir print, here ? ( it is taht, first, who made me write aoubt - 9 pages on this thread ) ... Maybe, I am wrong ( I said that before ), and forumers loves a lot Beejoir ( and this is not another story about hirst - cf. one of Mr Brainwash ).

Banksy
Fairey
MBW
Beejoir
So you can see using an iconic piece of art for the basis of interpretation is not a new one. I was drawn to the Beejoir piece for the same reason as I am with the soup can. If you take it as a literal rip off then perhaps your missing the point. Also if you read through these 9 pages you will find 70% bickering a gibberish as with most release threads.

Morning Lroy It's a take on a familiar thing - kinda like Warhol with his soup cans, and, more recently, Zach and "Enjoy Graffiti" - I'd imagine it'll be quite a talking point when it's hung, because of this. It's a cheeky little wink towards Hirst and his factory literally s**tting out spot paintings/prints. It's the closest a lot of people will get to owning an actual spot painting/print. It's a pretty thing to hang in your place and smile at when you walk past. It's an urban/pop art thing.
Doesnt warrant thinking about too much.
Enjoy spots, UmBongo
Edit: What leumasdarnley just said without pictures. LOL

Oh, forgot about your other question - the Banksy/Hirst connection rumours have been around for ever, from Hirst bankrolling Banksy back in the day, and, more recently, in conversations in regard to who owns the scaffolding company that are doing things with the mural in Cheltenham and who is behind the Bank Robber company. They've also worked on a least a couple of collaboration pieces too. There are probably a ton of members who know a lot more about things than I...

I think Beejoir nailed it. The subtlety and instant recognizability, the quality and craft of the print, the attention to detail and 70 effin colors. I loved it right away.
