Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by jayTown on Aug 31, 2014 21:34:30 GMT 1, ยฃ195 for some drippy dots.
70 dots to be precise. That's less than ยฃ3 a dot which I think we can all agree is a fair price in the current market.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Fะฏ on Aug 31, 2014 21:41:28 GMT 1, Absolute wet dream of a print for forum members pre 2008. Diarrhea treatment. More like diarrhea.
Wonder what percentage of the people buying this tat still own that crappy death card print by scorn. Mantis anyone? Thought not.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Aug 31, 2014 22:12:21 GMT 1, not sure why it matters that the print is of an image that's a few years old? If Banksy released a Heavy Weaponry print people would shit their pants

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by alexdb on Aug 31, 2014 23:07:27 GMT 1, I dont understand either. Why is the artistic value of an image/work from an artist less because it is from the past. Also this is the only print run of the beejoir spots and not even a repetition of another print run.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Aug 31, 2014 23:11:37 GMT 1, not sure why it matters that the print is of an image that's a few years old? If Banksy released a Heavy Weaponry print people would s**t their pants 1. What relevance does a made up release that will never happen have to do with anything?
2. It matters that's its old, if you know the image and the joke well and it does not make you want to purchase it.
3. Why does every other thread on here try to compare artists to banksy? Beejoir is not banksy and he'd be the first to admit that.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Aug 31, 2014 23:31:47 GMT 1, I do feel like pretty much every "newish" artist gets destroyed on here, in one way or another, when they release a print. By "newish" I pretty much mean not represented by POW.
Surprised this print release is generating such a backlash; doesn't really make sense to me. I'd understand if original canvas owners were upset ala the DDD Handgun situation, but this just seems like it doesn't really hurt anyone.
Prints help people who can't get originals still be able to own the art, that's always been the case right? I don't see why releasing prints is seen as cashing in, even after a long period of time.
Granted there are limits, but this doesn't seem to be one of those cases. At least IMO.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Aug 31, 2014 23:35:00 GMT 1, Backlash exaggeration much?
id say critique of length of time since original release and it being a little dull is the height of this tsunami of a backlash, but then I'd say the hyper levels of sensitivity to criticism shown generally on this forum deserves a backlash against in fact.

I don't know why anyone would be upset if an artist releases a print of an old image. It seems like a nice gesture by an artist to make an affordable release to those who could never afford the original. And if that bothers you, don't buy it

If you bought the original, would you be upset if prints were made of your piece?
I was asked by Sam Flores to make prints of my original, and since he's a friend I happily obliged. Anything to support him...
Would you guys say yes or no?

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Sept 1, 2014 0:55:22 GMT 1, Backlash exaggeration much? id say critique of length of time since original release and it being a little dull is the height of this tsunami of a backlash, but then I'd say the hyper levels of sensitivity to criticism shown generally on this forum deserves a backlash against in fact. I don't really think echoing how you dislike a six-year-old image in a print release thread can be considered 'art commentary' or a valuable contribution to the print release discussion, so I view it as backlash; maybe the term is a bit sharp, but I think you know what I mean.
Seems like the equivalent of revisiting an art exhibit that you don't like a decade later just to be a buzzkill to people who like the exhibit and have a different opinion/view. So when I see it, it stands out and seems odd.
I think there are plenty of valid critiques provided by members on this forum for all kinds of art; usually the ones that manage to comment on the art negatively while not making anyone who likes the print/image feel like a moron.
Only my opinion, of course.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Deleted on Sept 1, 2014 0:58:19 GMT 1, I'll take that as 'none at all' then and continue to wonder why you made such a ridiculous statement in the first place. Haha do you actually read this forum? Name a non-POW artist (also not in the top header on this site) and I will find a thread where they have been decimated to a point that makes no sense, absent blind hatred or misdirected anger.
I'd list artists myself, but then I'd be accused of hyping.

Do you even read your own posts?
You literally just bashed Martin Watson's "Squiggles" and called Watson a "Tireless Biter" all within the last hour on a seperate thread.
I consider him newish.

Your exact words -
"Take the godawful computer-generated vectors and toy squiggles of that talentless biter Whatson for example."
You're a trip.
That qualifies as destroying in my book regardless if it is your singular opinion.

Obviously, you talk nonsense and have a tendency to undercut your own statements.

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by thomasmer on Sept 1, 2014 4:13:27 GMT 1, A lot of talk about it being painted years ago and only just printed now.
I'm more of the impression if you painted it last week and you just turned it into a print, it looks like the only reason you did the street piece was to sell the print?
Was myself wondering why it wasn't released through www.souledoutstudios.com but then realised 70 colours wouldn't be the kind of thing they print?

Beejoir Graffiti Prints release sept 4th, by Happy Shopper on Sept 1, 2014 15:27:06 GMT 1, Boring original, even worse print.
What statement is having the spots slightly drippy making? Some of Hirst's early spot paintings looked like that anyway.
