Yeah thats cool. See if i was not embracing this i would say that is a basic C215 copy. But that would be an easy dig and not relevant (take note people).

I like how he has created a style from the stencil and the layering.
Bit wary of artists who shun commercial work though. They tend to wear baggy jumpers and smell funny.

question - Do you think Norwegian artists are trying to appeal more to Norweigans or Europeans/Americans? Lot's of Norweigan symbolism in some of their work, but from what I've seen, most of the websites they promote/sell on are in English

It is probably easier. Handmade posters sell in £'s which is odd as well considering they are based in norway.
English is fairly common in norway as well, it is a main language. From what i read and hear most works go to Norway anyway.

I don't think that todays stencil and street art explosion is nothing more than a global trend that is being promoted via media and internet and some have decided that stencil art sells and all you have to do is stick some images on some walls and hey presto instant credibility as an urban rebel with a gallery clause.

Pochoirs have been done by artists for décades.

I can't get too excited about art where someone has spent thousands hiring a big crane scissor platform or scaffold and meticulately scaled up a prepared picture.

It's too commercial art for me.

I prefer dodgy art on walls done without permission even if it is a cow.

Just bought my first art from Norwegian Artist BOT-Grow Up. (Sorry only iPhone pic) Love the idea and concept. 120cm X 120 cm canvas. There is a million great painters/drawers out there, but only a fractions with an original and new twist.
Those few will be remebered, and will "outlive" us all.

I personally love stencil art as well as most of the other styles we discuss on here.If its done well and pleasing to my eye then i will enjoy it and not judge the method in which its produced. Just sitting in my lounge i have original works by Dolk, whatson, chris moon, chevrier, dave white, most very different

However you judge norwegian stencil art, it does have its place in urban art history and will be associated together for many years to come

I can see how a Swede would do an image of a Norwegian riding a cow and vice versa but change the flag to a Ukrainian flag or a Brazilian flag or an EU flag and you have a political statement.

I would like to add this new piece by Pøbel to the thread about Norwegian Street Art.
Thoughts on the small cow in this anyone? or are we talking medium to large cow?
Hard to tell with the cow stakes.

got it from a listing on EB... I believe the seller is also a member on this forum
