Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by Ottomatik on Aug 17, 2014 14:46:59 GMT 1, The past 4 prints were only released online. Fight club was not online only. It was available at an art fair beforehand.
Man, I forgot about FC. I was thinking of Tardis, Modern, Kings, and Killer.
Ds111-Kings was a hard one to snag because of cart hoarders.

Lining up + trying online usually ends well.
And everything I said about cost before I threw out the window when I saw detailed pics of 'Fight Club'

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by JAlternatión on Aug 31, 2014 0:13:15 GMT 1, While wandering around London this afternoon, I saw several of Conor's pieces and it really cemented how much I'd love to have one on the wall. On a selfish level I'm hopng these are available online and the prints are slightly smaller than they look from those photos... only so much wallspace left.

It looks like he's moving away from the symbolism from the Dead Meat show and will be showing work more along the lines of the pieces from Art14 and Re:Define.

Now in September and cannot think of many other releases/events that I have looked forward to as much as this one in 2014. Only wish I could go and/or afford any of his pieces! Hope to see a lot of photos via the lucky buggers on the forum who get a look in when it finally kicks off.

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by The Jokers Puppet on Sept 9, 2014 9:44:10 GMT 1, I heard they were having issues with the venue but still hopeful for 26th Sept. Apparently 10 large canvases at £65k+ VAT (assume $100K) and 5 'smaller' pieces at 4ft by 2ft (price to be confirmed). There is an image of one of the smaller portraits on his instagram. Be interesting whether prices change given the slide in sterling on Scottish referendum worries (1.70 to 1.60 in a couple of days) or they are really targeting US buyers only. Not heard details on print run/ price.

But what I'm saying is the pieces are already being brought to the US for the show, so shouldn't the import tax burden be on Laz/the artist rather than included in the purchase price for the buyer?

Conor Harrington | 'Eat and Delete' in New York, by JAlternatión on Sept 10, 2014 0:44:54 GMT 1, I'm pretty sure you only have to pay tax at the rate of the country you purchase in (outside the EU).... and with the US, I think you only pay sales tax if you are resident in that state. For example if I purchase something from the states I have to pay UK VAT at the point of entry into the country, but don't have to pay tax there.
This may be complete codswallop but it's what I thought happens

What I am saying is that as they're a UK business and sell work all over the world at a cost of actual price + 20% I don't believe that they are going to drop the prices to reflect the change in sales tax. I think that they will just leave their standard asking price including VAT, but not say that it includes VAT. That is, they will just pocket what they would normally charge VAT on. I don't recall Graffiti Prints dropping their prices by 20% when they sold their wares in NYC in August but then again those were created in the UK so maybe different rules apply.
