Ernest Zacharevic π±πΉ Penang, Malaysia Street Art , by FΠ― on Aug 11, 2014 22:55:06 GMT 1, I take it this was one of the original editions from Montana Gallery?
Highly sought after anyway as the montana and any special proofs from GP were hand painted rather than using crayons - separate from the GP version, but same basic print. I have seen both editions for the most part and the level of detail is lovely on the montana ones and proofs.
Ive heard these going for a fair penny so would be interested to know what the offers have been like.
I may be bias as i own a piece from the montana exhibition, but i have had a ton of offers but do not want to sell and it is next to frame. One included a straight swap for an unsinged (yes i meant that) banksy (not flags). The offer was made from asia where he is an already well known and popular street artist.
GLWTS

Ernest Zacharevic π±πΉ Penang, Malaysia Street Art , by met on Aug 12, 2014 5:05:39 GMT 1, If only the person responsible for hijacking his image had to clean it up, rather than some poor unfortunate minimum wage worker Could someone please explain the rationale behind the recent intervention by Cost at the McDonald's near the Louvre?
I ask because I love what Cost has done in the past (the work of Revs even more so). And it's depressing when a person you hold in such high regard suddenly drops in your esteem.
This is nothing more than a disgusting act to me, aggravated by its futility. If it had potential to be effective in getting a message across, like a dirty protest in prison, I could at least understand.
But unless the turd was accompanied by an explanatory note, the interior design or branding execs and other decision-makers at corporate headquarters will never hear about the incident. At best, the management at that particular McDonald's will just be under the impression it's dealing with a random, repulsive character with mental problems.
As referred to by ignorantwalnut, Cost therefore stuck it, not to the multinational responsible for the image appropriation, but to the minimum-wager tasked with the clean-up β some pitiful teenager or immigrant who commutes into work from the suburbs and who had no idea about the supposed motivation behind the act.
Worse, from my perspective the gesture seems disingenuous. It feels like Cost is simply pretending, for the sake of appearances and social media attention, to take issue with the photo of his and Revs' roller piece on the High Line in New York (scrubbed and largely removed almost five years ago) being turned into wallpaper and pasted in a Paris fast food restaurant.

Ernest Zacharevic π±πΉ Penang, Malaysia Street Art , by aberdoom on Aug 12, 2014 18:50:51 GMT 1, I had an EZ and just just traded it... Sorry to say but these aren't that great... Was excited to get one because I like EZs street art... But for me all his releases so far have just been... Meh... Of course my opinion... I think everyone are looking for theses not for hanging on walls... But hoping for the next big investment!!!
Montana and GP ones look exactly the same? For what it's worth...
Banksy for an EZ style wars 1/1 is crazy! If someone's silly enough to do that then so be it... But there is a lot of hyping around this print... Mostly from people who have them! Instead of people who want one...
Maybe someone who has a lot of time on their hands can check... How many have been offered for sale/trade/could let it go for a banksy vs people who have actually wanted to buy one...
