Os Gemeos @99prints, by eschiff on Feb 5, 2014 10:10:35 GMT 1, just got mine! Won't post the same pics as others but in case anyone was wondering, it's deckled on all sides. Got an appt at John Jones Monday morning and will let you guys know what i go with. I'm not the biggest fan of floating (i hate seeing the ripples and on a piece this big that scares me), so i'll probably go boring and classis, black frame, white mount).
Also, (and queue the jokes for it was 4k euros) but the packaging was outstanding. One of those tubes where the ends don't come off and if you haven't seen them before you spend 40 minutes trying to get it off before realising it's taped in the middle.
I know it's a small small detail in an avalanche of a thread, but makes you wonder how some galleries continue to ship prints that get dented/ruined.

Os Gemeos @99prints, by eschiff on Feb 5, 2014 10:51:17 GMT 1, other thing...not sure if anyone noticed but the print number didn't match the order number. Someone was spouting some bs about the first 34 went to friends and family? Well, i got under 34 and as far as I know am not friends nor family with anyone there. Seems a bit confusing but heyho...

Yes thank you drives me crazy that a gallery can send art that gets damaged from lack of effort. Happens to me like 50% of the time I am glad after all the moaning on this thread that 99prints did it right on the packaging.

Os Gemeos @99prints, by Graham H on Feb 5, 2014 12:57:25 GMT 1, Yep.. but seems the later ones sent out had bubble wrap around them.. mine was just rocking about in the massive tube with a bit of tissue paper to protect it.
They obviously learned a lesson after the early ones.

I'm not the biggest fan of floating (i hate seeing the ripples and on a piece this big that scares me), so i'll probably go boring and classis, black frame, white mount). I had my Faile Les Ballet print floated and it's fine (and huge), really depends on who does the work.
I'm more a fan of the white frame, I like the artwork to not be constrained by the frame but to "float " beyond the border of the frame. To me black frames restrict the image. As I turn to look at my Kaws and DFace prints framed this way all that leaps out to my eyes is the print - no frame.
Other than photography, where a black frame can make a b&w print pop, most galleries/museums go with white or blond frames to minimize the frame interaction.
Just some food for thought.

Os Gemeos @99prints, by Invaded 420 on Feb 6, 2014 20:15:17 GMT 1, These will dry up in the matter of days. Large amounts sold before general sale. 'Plenty' of collectors keeping hold. I honestly think those that buy now at 11,000 dollars plus will be laughing in a few months. One has already landed on Philips auction books for two months time.ย very funny post. You sellin one on eBay by any chance ha

There's no comment on the image, only the financial upside, how far we have fallen.

Seriously you can't remember discussions about brp tubes, SOS tubes, pow tubes, the smell of new prints, the number of screens, the prices, the flipping, the unfettered love (with absolutely no explanation) ..,. You've pretty much let this place pass you by.

The great little drawing for sale lacks two very important aspects of an Os Gemeos: The color yellow Hype
I'll give you a tenner.
