Nope - mine's gone thru customs, made its way to the post office and now I'm waiting to be contacted about a payment that's due (assuming this is tax). That's according to the USPS website anyway...

Eine • Amazement & Amusement, by Elephants and Castles on Mar 5, 2014 1:15:17 GMT 1, Hello Everyone, I just wanted to jump in regarding the prints, all the prints were shipped over 2 days when you received the shipping emails. Because all the prints are split coming from NY ( from the Judith Charles Gallery for the Black Gloss Editions ) and California ( for the other colors ) some buyers were getting their shipments at different times, also UK customs has held the prints for over 7 days in custom clearance which is a pain. USPS did not issue us tracking numbers for the shipments for over 4 days which was an error on their part. Every purchaser who contacted us was given a return email within 24 hrs. Due to us being 8 hrs behind the UK, we had several buyers complaining that we were not contacting them in a timely manner but we were still in bed so apologies. Also we have recieved many emails complaining about customs or import duties, we have absolutely no control over this, we cannot refund buyers for out of pocket import duties, the simple fact is tax has to be paid in one country or the other, we helped out by listing as a gift and low values.
I would like to thank everyone for supporting us with this new venture we are going to be launching some new editions very soon so we will keep you posted.
One final piece of information we do have some very limited AP's and PP's for the Amusement and Amazement Prints, these are first pulls or slightly varied colors on each print which really does make these true AP's if you missed out you can contact us at : info@elephantsandcastles.com

You mean you, as a seller of goods, are not responsible for helping me dodge the tax man? I am stunned. Next you'll be telling me you can't lie to the IRS for me either... (sorry, perhaps I'm not using the sarcasm font correctly, but damn some people are greedy and dim).

It's just not good enough- Ben should have flown them over and hand delivered to us all

How do they work these out? Mine was £15.81 total. £7.81 tax and £8 fee. Why are they different?

Eine • Amazement & Amusement, by sohohoho on Mar 6, 2014 0:28:33 GMT 1, Customs charges aren't just plucked out of thin air. The figures are based on declared value, actual cost of shipping, whether the gift element has been taken into consideration and the exchange rate. Anyone who incurs a fee of less than £40 (for one print) should count themselves lucky. I won't even bother going into the 5% rule as it's a waste of time (for something like this) when Parcel Force is involved.
