CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by mcster on Nov 21, 2008 8:59:27 GMT 1, I thought it was a really good show and a great place, there was even a half-pipe where the vid was playing ! Does anyone know what normally goes on there - I want to move in !
Loved the installation downstairs, I've had a word about buying a couple of the panels and I've decided I am going to try and pick up a canvas once I've paid off a couple of other pieces I have on order.

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by Macdeee on Nov 21, 2008 9:53:24 GMT 1, The canvases were all pretty much Β£1500 plus VAT. Some were Β£2000 I think. There were some pieces on boards for Β£500ish. The prints were Β£350 for the "Bonhams piece" and the other train print was the same price. Got no snaps im afraid.
Might head back during daytime hours.

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by simpo on Nov 21, 2008 14:16:03 GMT 1, Yes, the comic style stuff is Cept and the Mike Ballard stuff is more intricate, often using graphics etc. Probs not explaining too well here - the flyer for the night was more Mike Ballard imo.
Show was amazing, not sure if I'd enjoy standing in the 'secret' as much today given the way my heads pounding! Anyone know if the small peice at the bottom of the stairs near the exit was available? Had some gold detailing and a train in the middle - no price or name but was chatting to the girls from Stella Dore and they thought it was available...
Probs can't make the Stella show next Thurs unfortunately but reckon that'd be a good shout for anyone who liked last night...

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by HowAboutNo on Nov 21, 2008 14:19:58 GMT 1, The stuff in the door as you went in was all the "Mike Ballard" guise stuff, very post/pre apocalyptic, shades of more of a fine art painting style, lots more hidden detail within the pieces, sculptures and the video installations are all more a Mike Ballard thing too.
Cept stuff, brash bold, lines, characters, mashups of Litchenstein and Warhol Imagery, all upstairs and in the back room.
For me this was the best matching of space to work and artist on show of the whole year. The pictures here whilst great, just make it look a little bit flatter than it all did on the night, so many hidden corners and skanky mouldy walls. It was basically being used as a lock up for industrial tools according to Cept.
The re work of the Super Villain piece on a flag looking background was the star of the show, although having said that, second only after the back room downstairs.....it was like a legal high down there. Stayed in it for about an hour all in just walking around, the best thing was seeing other peoples reaction upon entering.
Going back there to hopefully get some decent pictures of it all too, I'll post them here when I have them.
It's open 2-5pm tomorrow, then 12-5pm on Sunday, then open by appointment in the evening on Monday and Tuesday email info@spradio.com to organise for the Monday or Tuesday....and do go, you really really will not regret it at all.

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by Prescription Art on Nov 21, 2008 16:54:08 GMT 1, Well done to Steph for once again sniffing out one of the grimiest venues in darkest East London.... a great place well worth the bus ride! I came with a mate who doesn't leave West London much, who found great amusement in sitting down & being surrounded by 5 Noel Fieldings! I pointed out that made him Bolo. The painted room downstairs was spectacular.

CEPT π¬π§ Print Release, Street Artist, For Sale, by loulou64 on Nov 21, 2008 22:24:51 GMT 1, I was lucky enough to be there last night and thought it was the best show I have seen in a good while. Fantastic work in the perfect setting. The place was really industrial, kooky and displayed the work in it's best. Every piece was really strong and the painted basement room incredible. My problematic vertigo kicked in as I couldn't work out where the ceiling ended and the walls began, where the walls began and the floor started. Nothing to do with the drinks beforehand, I promise you. I implore anyone who can - get of your arse and go see this. It's pure brilliance!
