Don't know about you but £3.5k for a giclee at primary price seems to be taking the piss (IMO of course)

Ouch!! This should be " I screw you" rather than I love you. That is insane price, get over yourself its a high end photo copy for god sakes! I don't even want the print now, you can keep em!

I always think of those Tesco canvases where you pay very little to print your photo on a canvas.

To be fair I checked these out tonight and they are very good quality. In my opinion for the size and compared to the current cost of the small Art Car Boot print and the canvas print edition size it's an ok price. If I had 3.5k burning a hole in my pocket it's not a bad investment and a very nice image to boot. Far better than a lot of Blake's prints that demand a far higher price for far weaker images both visually and in quality and execution.

Never keen on the canvas prints but the quality of my Tunis print is amazing.

I do have to agree with justdeep there, I love my I love print and for sure if I had the cash I would get the canvas. Anyway not long ago people were willing to pay stupid money for a print ed. 250 or so, of little kid with a unbrella in a technicolor rain.

$350 for the print I fine and all, but $5000 for the canvas is a joke are you all being serious? I'm sure it looks nice but for that kind of money a printed canvas is way,way to much..even if you have the money to burn this is crazy.

Also when you consider prices and compare what you get, an earlier 'I Love You' or similar print, in a much higher edition and on paper would retail for more in a gallery. Why are people so put off by this? Interested in people's thoughts.

Big fan of Blake. Tbh I think the pricing is about right. I own 'Hope' which was 1k at CCA and is an edition of 100. The thing for me is this, I know we all love canvases and low editions but with PB's paper prints they are usually so much more than a standard print...embossing, gold leaf, various glazes, glitter. I'm not saying this isn't a stunning piece just that I prefer his paper prints combined with a lower price but high quality even though the editions are usually a little higher.

Agree, I have the print and its lovely so was quite excited about this until i saw the price. For 3.5 k they could have at least screenprinted them.

Cca have been really aggressively ramping up Blake prices for the last 2/3 years. I remember almost buying the first Eiffel Tower butterfly print at London art fair for £600. That would probably be at least 2k at launch now.

Anyway £3500 for this probably will look reasonable in years to come.

granted that is very nice to say the least and its a high quality copy onto a print so for that reason the $5000 is way to much, no matter how nice it is to me. Paul Insect is a screen print so that's exactly what I would be after, wicked piece there! And the Os digital looks nice but I would never buy a digital print on a canvas unless it was very,very cheap and then still probably not. Call me picky or whatever but that's the break down...best to you.

I know what you mean with some of his prints, they look great, diamond dust, gold leaf, silk screen glaze etc
I was mainly comparing this canvas print to the nearest comparable Blake print which would be this:

So if you compare size, price and edition it seems, (although not screen printed) on the money and I'm sure will raise in value steadily like most Blake editions.

I missed one of those Hope prints for £800 last year in a gallery by a matter of minutes. Gutted. In the market for a white I Love You Screen but the prices are silly billy money.
