Thought people might like to know...

At Multiplied Lazarides have 2 new Borf Rothko prints.
Number 7 and another grey/purple one.

They also had copies of "sold out" Number 9.

All editions of 75 for £175.

The last print was available for ages...was tempted to pull the trigger several times but it was simply too big size wise...some regrets not having the wall space for it. What's the size of the new prints? Anyone knows?

Love this guys work and this series is his best to date. Underrated talent IMO.

Bought a great Jieldé lamp recently to match up with my Borf "Borf Lives" Rothko's Modern Life canvas.

Obviously this is just my take on things and hence my liking.

I actually find it harder to explain Mark Rothko's abstract expressionism than to remark on Borf's manipulation of that theme. Rothko's work shows an artist using colour and brushstrokes to convey human emotion and feeling. His often sombre work allows the viewer to freely explore their own emotions. For me when I have stood in front of a Rothko I have been drawn into the horizontal aspect of his work, its orientation reminding me of landscapes in my life. The pure scale drawing you into the experience.

Borf's world of graffiti is heavily influenced by the landscape and the environment in which he lives. A freedom to express with no boundaries, very much reflecting the freedom that Rothko tries to encourage the viewer of his works to explore.

In a subtle twist Borf has created juxtaposition with Rothko's work by using his large horizontal blocks of colour to obscure the viewer and restrict the freedom of his work.  He is of course reflecting the fact that graffiti is often obscured in a similar way when local authorities blank out these works using large blocks of paint.

I also like that rather than just use mundane graffiti cover-up Borf uses a clever and thoughtful palette of colours adding to the original work by creating intrigue rather than destroying the viewing experience.

4, 5, 6, 8 are were all Canvas, not available prints. Number 9 was the first to be released as a print with no. 7 to follow shortly

All the others you mentioned are also Canvases not prints.

Yes I know - the question I was responding to was the person who wanted to see what they looked like, not whether they were prints or canvases - which is clear or should be when you click on them. The pics are from the exhibitions and those canvases that were sold / possibly available including the print no. 9. "Print available" refers just to no. 7 (just released) and no. 9 (which I thought had sold out) hence "print available" after their numbers.  I bought no. 7 and no. 11 at Multiplied - don't have a picture as due to wanting matching numbers I am picking them up next week - though details of no. 7 have been posted earlier - members might have liked to see no. 11 regardless of format. Sorry for the confusion - only trying to be helpful
