Choose your Weapon OG, by Sundowner on Feb 24, 2013 23:21:41 GMT 1, Before I get inundated with PMs, I haven't been offered anything!
Given there have been OGs of the previous few prints (Grannies, Trolleys, Morons, Applause, Stop & Search, Nola, Very Little Helps (the Pants canvas), Donuts and NBG it would seem strange that there was no original version released, so I was just wondering if there was a canvas version (although I would love to see the one on wood).

Choose your Weapon OG, by oneeye on Feb 25, 2013 22:15:40 GMT 1, The CYW OG was north of 7 feet tall on two panels. Such an incredible piece. As far as prints, I've seen two completely different hand finished versions in white.

Choose your Weapon OG, by lee3 on Feb 26, 2013 0:46:41 GMT 1, >>>Given there have been OGs of the previous few prints <<<
I'm guessing that there are OGs of all the prints as they were each made into a silkscreen for the print from a photo, no? I could well be wrong but looking at a list, nearly all (perhaps all?) of the print images have made there way into collectors' hands across other mediums. I'm hardly an expert but the few that I can definitively say that I've never seen photos of from other collector mediums include have a nice day, monkey queen, golf sale, pulp fiction, placard rats and christ w/ shopping bags. All of those were pretty early so it's possible they were screened from a photo of the version done in the streets which would leave just CWSB as, to the best of my knowledge, that was never done in the streets. Or, perhaps more likely, it's possible that each of those remaining images are sitting in collections somwhere.

Very interesting Lee. Is your avatar from the CYW original?

I'm pretty sure I've seen a CWSB canvas. Either it was in a movie, the name of which escapes me or it was in the background of a Hirst interview. My memory isn't was it used to be but I'm pretty sure it exists.

Yes, I had an opportunity to snap a couple photos at one point. As noted above it's large at ~8 feet square and one of those rare pieces (for my eyes anyway) where the artist made something available privately of that magnitude that was also done in the street. I've had the pleasure of seeing one or two others (large paintings, not CYW) that were much older and of similar scale to their counterparts in the street. They arrest the room and force the viewer to confront it. I quite like those; I'm sure there are many others but I haven't had the pleasure myself.

Choose your Weapon OG, by Sundowner on Feb 26, 2013 9:57:53 GMT 1, There were at least two original versions of CWSB. The first (which I assume is the one biggie is talking about below) was shown at Santa's Ghetto in 2003.
And the second more familiar one was on a backdrop of some description at the Ghetto in 2004...

Choose your Weapon OG, by lee3 on Feb 26, 2013 17:35:37 GMT 1, Any chance of seeing those couple of photos you snapped ? Led, I'm friendly with the owner and will check but that may be something they prefer off this site.
Sundowner, thanks for a photo of that CWSB canvas, very nice. So that leaves have a nice day, monkey queen, golf sale, pulp fiction and the placard rats. Has anyone ever seen any versions of those that went to collectors? Quick count out of ~45 prints (counting the various soup cans and placard rats each as one), we're down to the 5 different images above.

Choose your Weapon OG, by elevenspots on Feb 27, 2013 0:32:55 GMT 1, Not a Choose Your Weapon - but at least its an OG. This S&S was on the very top floor of Laz's old place - they opened the doors to the general public on the "Shut Down" show preview a couple of years ago.
As you can see from the bloke to the left - I think its life size, maybe the same stencil that was painted on the Left Bank?
Please excuse the 1. blackberry photo 2. the photo posting not working (please disregard or help if applicable)

Not a huge fan of the print, but that is very cool. Would like to see a pic from a bit further out.
