I'm curious to hear from those who have seen the paintings in person if the colors are as bold as the images I've seen in the preview list. I own one of the pieces from the New York show, and have seen pieces from the exhibit in San Francisco, and to my eye, there seems to be a subtle difference in the color contrast for the paintings in London. The blacks seem blacker, and the color contrast within paintings seems more pronounced. I'm wondering if this is a function of the photos themselves, is it my misperception, or is this, in fact, the case.

Argentinian muralist Jaz makes his debut at The Outsiders with two editions created during a week spent at our Execution Dock studio. Hand-painted screen print One Against One was inspired by the artist's visit to Istanbul in Turkey last year, during which he witnessed alarming levels of violence used by the police against their own people.

Already very familiar with scenes of public protest in his native Argentina, Jaz was curious to see the same thing occuring in a completely different cultural environment, hence his depiction of colliding Ottoman warriors. His second edition, Untitled, features one of the artist's signature style characters in his first drypoint etching.

Oakland's Brett Amory opened Twenty-Four in London, his debut solo exhibition at Lazarides Rathbone last week and while in the UK worked alongside our master printer to create these varied editions. Waiting #207 is a series of five unique hand-painted monotypes observing the comings and goings at 26a Trinity Road, London.

His Tenant series of portraits originate from time spent with the participants of I Am Here, a public art project based in Hackney, East London. Each of the four Tenants are available from an edition of only two unique monotypes.

Wow, I never knew this existed. back story - I worked two doors down from Bob's (at Royal Ground Coffee) on Polk in San Francisco. We used to go there at 2am to get the fresh bear claws out of the oven, one of my favorite places when I lived in SF.

Nice story. Good luck with your hunt for the og. However, if you don't find it, if my memory serves me well there were also a number of extensivly hand-finished/hand-embellished prints (smaller edition). Those might be a good alternative.

I love Hem's work...saw one of his works in person at Roq La Rue a couple years back and was absolutely blown away. The way he depicts light is off the charts. I don't know much about his subject matter, only know that the painting I saw of his had an incredible presence on the wall and seemed to glow from within.
