POW Pictures on Walls, by Paul on Sept 6, 2007 23:18:28 GMT 1, How crazy would it be if Morons was his last print edition?
it would be brilliant, but dont reckon it will be. banksy is an artist and wants to share his talent. lazarides is his agent, essentially, and is there to commercialise and market him. they wont split, doesnt make sense, but if they did, they'll pick up other partners. if it was up to banksy, he'd give all his work away for free. lets hope that happens

What a great concept.
Wasn't someone saying earlier that he should just go back to working on the streets? No site? (No prints...)

POW Pictures on Walls, by dave313perry on Sept 6, 2007 23:28:50 GMT 1, I wouldnt be surprised if there was a Banksy LAZ split to be honest
the perception that is portrayed...
Banksy - passion for street art, and anti establishment and commercialism...etc Laz - organiser and money maker full stop.....
such a conflict in interest surely must cause some frustration? i can just imagion Laz saying come on lets do this huge great show with dozens of huge pieces especially for mr an mrs beckham, and Banksy like nar f**kit i wana stick some toilets in a field at glasto!! cool man!!!

POW Pictures on Walls, by bonesy on Sept 6, 2007 23:40:40 GMT 1, My take is that the LA Show was obviously a full attempt to push into the US, surrounded by the Paris Hilton and Disneyland stunts. After LA, POW was going to keep up the hype push with the release of SIX prints in a few months. Things worked out (as hoped) quicker and better than Steve LaZarides dreamed of and now he's keeping all of us thirsty for Banksy and talking "will there ever be another print?" Of course there will be more prints, when they think the time is right.

POW Pictures on Walls, by ROLLINS on Sept 7, 2007 6:26:36 GMT 1, As I remember....I originally brought my first banksy's from a site called PYMCA. The emails used to come from PYMCA and they used to have a section on their website called "pictures on walls" this link then became it's own site and developed into POW as we know it. I think. I remember going to the POW years ago just when Mr Tourette joined them and talking to that stave Laz fella. From what I gathered it was his and banksy project.
I might be wrong.

POW Pictures on Walls, by wildbill on Sept 7, 2007 6:48:27 GMT 1, Some info was left on here a while back indicating that Hewlett is the majority shareholder at POW.....approx. 40%.....Laz owns somewhere around 28%......and there were two other partners with smaller percentages.....
Never met the guy, but I got the impression that Laz is all about "f**k the Art establishment.."
I'm sure Banksy knows what he's doing. The guy is a god damn genius......He must be with Laz for a good reason...

POW Pictures on Walls, by slowmo on Sept 7, 2007 9:22:16 GMT 1, The address in Middlesex is not too surprising, many small businesses when incorporated will use their Solicitor who registered them as a company address in the lack of owning their own premises So I guess they used these guys to get incorporated
www.ashbournes-solicitors.co.uk/id4.html
Check the postcode. God I'm boring!

POW Pictures on Walls, by manchestermike on Sept 7, 2007 9:34:02 GMT 1, Or businesses use their solicitor / accountants as their "Registered Address" with companies house. For example, my company have our physical address where we are based and business is transacted from. We also have our registered address (which would come up on searches like this etc) which is our accountants address

POW Pictures on Walls, by a4mnt on Sept 7, 2007 11:06:42 GMT 1, On the original query regarding the UKdata info, lots of companies are registered elsewhere other than their place of business. Their might be a parent/holding company that oversees the financial interests, or it could be the address of an accountants, thats quite normal. If the business was a straight partnership between Laz and Hewlett, a normal set up would be to own 49% of the shares each and have someone like an accountant holding 2% to make an final financial decisions should the two owners not be able to thrash out an agreement between them on any issues.
As for why does Laz own POW and Laz, well surely its obvious, apart from POW being the printing arm, they are also the more downmarket part of the business, whereas Laz has the gallery space and upmarket gallery 'air' to it.....creating a distinction between the brandings.
Whats the cheapest print you can buy from Laz? £750?
edit - whoops hadn't read page 2, which Mike had already touched on all this.

One of the other shareholders in POW is "B Hudson" whom I understand is actually Ben Eine.

When I've had an email from Ben before his second name doesn't show as Hudson
