Andrew McAttee 🇬🇧 Print Release • Show News • Art For Sale

Hi All, I'm in the fortunate position of having a couple of quid in my pocket and was thinking of one more addition before hibernation (I dont like trollies, and wont be able to get one anyway). I'm torn between something by Ian Francis (I have Amy Allen, which I love) or a McAttee print which I'm drawn towards and can't explain why - they're not an 'investment' per se but on the other hand wouldn't pay £400 for a car thats going to be worth £100 tomorrow - I'd like that car to be 'worth' £400 in a year.......opinions welcome....thks

It's all down to what you prefer to look at - Ian Francis for me any day. They are beautiful - and top quality prints too...

I got my McAttee out over the week-end to show some friends and they were blown away with it, at the same time, so was I! Can't believe I've had it ignored in a tube all summer, it's next to be framed now Amazing quality and hand finsihed... even smells good! I've got Amy Allen Signs, but quality wise it doesn't compare by a long way.

Thks, I saw some McAttee stuf in the flesh yesterday in Brighton and it was in a league of its own, plus as you kinda alluded to a real conversation starter (and stopper...), I dont have the luxury of buying it 'all'. The quality is amazing. Thanks.

has to be mcattee! francis doesn't grab me, the works a bit 'meh' but stet is a riot. i have 'marvel' in an orange frame, looks stunning.. £400 well spent i would say..

I like both artists but if you are looking at investment potential then it's Ian Francis by a mile.

yesterday at artrepublic I saw two of his prints framed, they looked absolutely amazing, the colours were just leaping out of the frames. anyone come across his work? really nice giclee prints with some additional brushstrokes to top it off

Thanks for that, just bought 'Space above'. I have been wanting a McAtte for ages but the originals are always sold out.

Here's a quote from the Guardian if you don't know his work:

If graffiti art is to prosper, it will have to remember the stylistic roots of the original calligraphers, or 'writers', as they are sometimes still called. One of the most sophisticated British artists in the show, Stet - 31-year-old Andrew McAttee - spray-paints huge canvasses with highly finished faux-spontaneous brushstrokes and shiny Ribena-like bubbles, vaguely reminiscent of the American Pop artist Roy Lichtenstein and the Surrealist Joan Miro.

Stet earned his street credentials as a youngster at legally approved graffiti sites in London's Westbourne Park and Fulham, which allowed him to perfect his work unhurried and unharassed, before studying painting at Central St Martin's College of Art and Design. But his riotous compositions retain an unmistakable graffiti 'look'.
