Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by fatscoundrel on Apr 30, 2012 14:02:24 GMT 1, No idea. As much as I admire Banksy and I wish I could turn the clock back and buy at prices that were more affordable. Stik is going through the roof. I`m sticking with Connor Harrington and JR as I like there work. To obtain their work is not a lottery either.

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by pcant on May 11, 2012 21:54:14 GMT 1, I have to assume at this point this print is not getting released. As someone speculated earlier, is Banksy ever going to release another print?

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by My name is Frank on May 11, 2012 23:11:23 GMT 1, No more Banksy prints would be good. Would imagine there is more to do, but why not kill Banksy if the money is made, must be well connected to create by now without the hype. A nice Jo tweet that B is gone. Good time to end it as well after a fun ride, must have kids by now I would have thought. Go on, enjoy retirement

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by bonesy on May 11, 2012 23:39:22 GMT 1, Retirement (i realize youre kidding)? I would bet he is spending his days and nights planning events for this summer, literally the entire world will be watching. There are bigger things in the works than the crappy Gorilla print.

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by fatscoundrel on May 12, 2012 10:29:05 GMT 1, Even if he has kids which probably is true he must be on the way to 40 now. I`m sure he must pick up a spray can every now and then. That said the last print release was donated for a good cause. If I had the money I would be fighting over the Somerset and Avon constabulary prints before fame got to his head and he had work in Counter Strike, which in the main is owned by Murdochs, Fox Interactive. His last work apart from that stencil in Lyme Regis was Grace Jones cover album as featured on the culture show. Guess it is time to collect other prints.

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by ecb on May 13, 2012 22:29:36 GMT 1, I have to assume at this point this print is not getting released. As someone speculated earlier, is Banksy ever going to release another print?
Just a gut feeling but he'd be better off not making prints imo. With the scandal at POW over the oneoff colorways sold by ex-employees, he should stick to selling original art. As an owner of 3 Banksy prints, all signed and #'d, I wouldn't mind him not making prints. The last several have done nothing for me anyway (except keep the values of my 07/08/09 Banksy'd from growing in value). I love his prints as art, but lets be real, they are also investments.

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by bullet on May 13, 2012 22:41:47 GMT 1, Pure speculaation alert...
But wonder if them being closed and moving (speculative) has something to do with losing banksy (speculative)
Prints did not happen, theres obviously been something going on and his page has been on that site for 3 years now with nothing on it. More for the hits im guessing.

Maybe they lost him years ago and the last few print releases have just been knocked out by them without his involvement. Who'd know?
;D

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by pcant on May 14, 2012 8:36:55 GMT 1, Not sure what I inadvertantly alluded to, I don't actually know anything. I was just being pessimistic (it's been delayed twice now, the glitter excuse seems like a ruse, Banksy print releases, it would appear, are slowing down, etc...) so I know nothing about nothing in re: to a ACTUAL reason why it might not be released. Just for the record.

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by happyshopper on May 14, 2012 8:54:15 GMT 1, I think Banksy is too much a part of POW to leave them. It may be that they've got bored of releasing prints. It could be that they'll release the print in a new and interesting way... Hence delayed. Or it could be that the print just looks bad, so abandoned !?

Banksy Gorilla Print Release - POW, by iamzero on May 14, 2012 8:57:19 GMT 1, Weakest image they could've gone for in my opinion. I'm not sure what the gorilla means if anything at all?
Maybe they're having a rethink?

In a way the gorilla image is a poignant self-portrait as well as being a street piece that works well on paper, on the other hand its a dodgy drawing of a primate with funny hair on its arms that doesnt quite match up.
Each to his own I suppose.
I firmly believe that we wont see any prints released again at way below market value in the manner seen previously, and why should we?
If wimpy started building houses and selling them for 10k each so that people fought over them only to sell them for 100k each a month later we would think that the property market was slightly odd, not to mention that their business model was flawed.
I love a good bunfight but I get my F5 rocks off in places other than POW these days, the buzz aint quite the same but it does the job.
;D
