BAST, Nick Walker, RAE, Faile for sale (price drop), by pcant on May 7, 2019 19:31:03 GMT 1, Hey folks, I have received a couple inquiries about shipping framed and I am not going to do it. Either the packaging is so solid as to protect the works (they are glass, not plex) and will then cost more than framing on your end, or it is not going to be secure enough and would risk damage. Apologies, I have just been burned on that in the past. More than happy to deframe and send rolled.
Cheers!

BAST, Nick Walker, RAE, Faile for sale (price drop), by pcant on Apr 18, 2019 16:28:19 GMT 1, Howdy, all. Been gone from the forum for a bit, back because I need to move a few pieces and make some room on my walls. I've done some business on the board, both buying and selling.
I am offering up a BAST Trash & Royal, edition of 43, this is a good example of his messy, drrty, trashy works. Asking $1400
Also offering up a Nick Walker TMA Paris. Asking $900
Adding a Faile Smoking Silence from POW, these are an edition of 50, not sure on pricing, let's start at $1000 and see how it goes.
And a RAE. I don't remember the name, this is a thick, heavily worked painted piece, looking for $1200
Adding another Nick Walker, Love Vandal, $800 for this one
ALL are framed and I live in California. I can deliver or meet up within reasonable distance of the SF Bay Area. Or I can have the prints removed from the frames and send rolled prints.

Why are galleries and artists so terrible at packing prints?, by pcant on Aug 10, 2017 14:56:11 GMT 1, Out of curiosity, what would you consider to be "good packaging" for a print? If you're talking a rolled print: Print is rolled tighter than the tube, wrapped in paper and taped so it won't unroll. Then that rolled print is put into a tube with balled paper at each end so that the rolled print is essentially suspended. You don't want the print to touch the walls of the tube in case the tube gets damaged. And use a seriously big fat tube.
If you have to send a print flat I would use thin panels of wood for the outside layer.
POW used to be excellent at print shipping, haven't gotten anything from them in a while. I once ordered a Blek le Rat print from a hotel in NY where he had a show and it came in a tube with one of the end caps missing. Somehow it survived the journey intact.

For Sale - Bast La Benzo, by pcant on Jul 14, 2017 6:05:11 GMT 1, I believe this is an edition of 15. Or at least the version I have is. And it is a fantastic piece, thick paper and hand-sprayed.

Bast • Limonata Print, by pcant on Jun 25, 2017 18:58:33 GMT 1, I am definitely a fan of his, and I really like this. It captures a little bit of the puppets he and Paul Insect have been doing on Instagram, I think, but still has that classic BAST feel. I just dropped mine at the framer, didn't take any pics but it's fantastic in person, thick paint, thick paper, very BAST-y. Will post when it's on the wall.

Commemorative Inauguration Print by BKD, by pcant on Jan 21, 2017 11:42:43 GMT 1, I think Trump is a real danger. He's tremendously thin-skinned. He tapped into a strong, angry wave in America, and he's a media-savvy master showman, there's no denying it. But he's easily baited into petty nonsense (I assume he'll nuke Brugges some day because a Bulgarian teen mocked him on Twitter, and yes I know they're two different countries, I'm assuming that he doesn't).
He seeks validation from crowds (he had a victory tour after he won, but only to the states that voted for him, and he basically carried on campaigning because he needs the clicks and the likes and the cheering fans). He seems to have trouble staying focused. He admits to not reading a lot, preferring to "go with his gut." In some ways, he's like a less-restrained Bush 43. He cares about ratings.
These are fantastic qualities in a TV show host, but not so, I believe, in a president. I'm not a huge Clinton fan, but first off, she would have been much more prepared (Trump is missing large segments of the apparatus of government, basically because he's trying to do it like he runs everything: Paying attention to little details and delegating the big stuff. He appears to think he can personally hire all 2,000+ people he needs in his immediate government). And speaking of Clinton, the GOP screamed for months about her Goldman Sachs speeches, and now Trump's put about five GS veterans in his close administration. "Drain the swamp" indeed. Trump is supposed to divest his business dealings, he essentially has refused to, or offered zero proof to back up claims that he has.
He makes deals. Which is, again, great, if what you need done is a deal. Running the country isn't making a deal. I'll even argue he's not a great businessman in the classic sense. He didn't do well at running a business. He lost a ton of money running casinos and was hit by several bankruptcies in the 90s, now he makes his money mostly by licensing his name. Again, not doubting his acumen as a deal-maker, but we don't really need a deal-maker, we need someone who knows how to run the business.
Also, I wouldn't buy the target. I think art should provoke, and I'm all for the artist saying what they need to say, but I'll pass.
