Stencil Advice, by stifnek on Mar 9, 2009 21:14:36 GMT 1, Brilliant you lot! Actually just finished a test spray and was convinced I'd put enough sm on the reverse to get the fiddly bits, took off the stencil...bloody feathered to f***. Makes sense to use a narrow implemement to hold em down, just to give the extra 'flushness', nice one, once again! I'm loving it on ere..getting some really good advice. I suppose you lot wanna see something after all this knowledge you've given me then? See what I can do.. Oh..iamdoom, I pray to the left!

Stencil Advice, by stifnek on Mar 6, 2009 23:00:47 GMT 1, Thanks v much for that mate. I think i may have been spraying a bit too much come to think of it. I just didn't want any paint to creep through those little gaps! I dunno, but I think it'll make all the difference having the detail reproduce crisp-ly (if that's a word.), as well as the larger outlines. Cheers all!

Stencil Advice, by stifnek on Mar 6, 2009 21:15:37 GMT 1, Right, you know after you've cut your stencil and it's lying (if you're working flat) on the material to be used, how does one keep the really fiddly bits, say hair, to stay down flush to the surface? Coins work well, but are too big for the area, so I tried spraymount and it leaves a bit of a cloudy layer behind. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Inside Artist Studios, by stifnek on Mar 5, 2009 14:43:49 GMT 1, This is a real eye opener for me. Great seeing the way everyone works. I do think my unorthodox method of kitchen light on, blind up, so that the patio is lit is the best tho! Ha.

Should I or shouldn't I?, by stifnek on Feb 28, 2009 20:43:23 GMT 1, i knew you had it in you, you lot! Just what the doctor ordered.. T*3-would have done a white layer, but I'm skint at mo, and just used the matt black at different distances to create the layers.. I know exactly where you're coming from on that one..it needs that lift..the white. Name on shoes is a great idea, will give it a go.. All the best and many thanks..

Should I or shouldn't I?, by stifnek on Feb 28, 2009 16:39:54 GMT 1, Ok, ok, it's not got ALL the detail I expected, but trying to cut that out of A4 acetate can really give you a sore finger! What do you think for my first stencil attempt? Opinions greatly recieved..
