WANTED: Josh Keyes (original), by sandchicken on Aug 19, 2008 16:25:44 GMT 1, I was expecting that not everybody on the list is serious about buying an original, and some are just curious to see the pieces before they sell. But I do get your point about other art being out there. Right now I would be more interested in getting a Tic Toc and/or Treadmill print and have some money left over for something else then buy a small original of his.

WANTED: Josh Keyes (original), by sandchicken on Aug 19, 2008 12:35:31 GMT 1, I have put my self on a few waiting lists for original pieces, but the Joshua Liner Gallery is the only one that didn't get back to me. I will give them another try.

WANTED: Josh Keyes (original), by sandchicken on Aug 19, 2008 3:10:31 GMT 1, I will be keeping an eye on there as well, but I should also add that I am not as interested in Thunder, only because it is too big for the space I currently have available, although I would certainly still be interested given the right price. So mostly I am after Tic Toc, Treadmill, Above and Below, and Magician's Garden.

WANTED: Josh Keyes (original), by sandchicken on Aug 19, 2008 0:48:48 GMT 1, I am looking to buy any print by Josh Keyes, except for Weaving and Watcher #3 (the only two I have). I would also of course be interested in any of Josh's originals, if anyone happens to have one for sale. If you have any available please let me know.
*edit*
I am now only looking for an original. I have up to $10k available (about £6.6k) and am ideally looking for an 18x24 painting on panel, although I am certainly also interested in other sizes. PM me if you have one available.

Nick Walker strikes again in Brooklyn (pictures), by sandchicken on May 24, 2008 16:25:45 GMT 1, I also have a side story in regards to the giraffe piece. My good friend is close with the owners of the shop NW did the art outside of. Apparently he asked their permission, they all hung out for a few, than NW went to work. He used a projector to display the image on the wall, than worked off that to paint the piece. It was really windy that night, which my boy said accounts for the not-so-impressive execution of the piece...he watched him work, and struggle, to create it. Beyond that the details were lacking - I just wanted to provide the little bit of info i had on the subject, which is at least noteworthy. I asked him what it was like to hang out with Nick Walker...what he was like. The answer: focused. Interesting details regarding how the piece was projected on the wall. I've never heard of that method being used on the street before. I am quite surprised he didn't use a stencil, as the piece doesn't look all that large. Any ideas if the same technique was used on the giraffe piece?
I believe he was talking about the giraffe piece when he was talking about the use of a projector. I would think this smaller piece did use stencils, at least it looks like it.

V For Vandal Is Here, by sandchicken on May 13, 2008 22:13:18 GMT 1, I am trying to think of how to best frame my v for vandal, and was wondering what some other people were doing. I think I would like to float mount it, but besides that I do not know. Let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks!

P.O.W, by sandchicken on Apr 24, 2008 2:08:44 GMT 1, I am interested in knowing if there is anything interesting the see at the POW offices. I will be traveling to London June 1-3 for the first time and would like to see as much as possible. In that same vein, for someone with 2 days to spend in the city, what would you say are the best sites to see, street art related or otherwise? Thanks! It depends if you like art, If the answers yes, then a trip to Tate Modern is a must, a chance to see some amazing works, I must have done nearly every major gallery in London but Tate never ceases to amaze me. Then get on the tube and do StolenSpace/Brick Lane etc etc then bimble to TLSG. Hop on the tube again and do Laz and Elms, I suppose it all depends on whats on at the time, check they are open first as there is nothing worse than turning up at a closed gallery.
Thanks for the reply. The Tate Modern sounds great, I will be sure to check that out. I will look into those other galleries closer to my trip to see what is going on at the time. Thanks again!

Nick Walker Phenomenon, by sandchicken on Apr 21, 2008 9:25:47 GMT 1, Hi, This isn't really directly related to this topic but I didn't want to start a whole new thread so here it goes.
I have just started regularly visiting this message board to get the latest street art info, and am kinda confused by how its set up. The individual artist's boards seem to not be used too often, except for this one, so is there a reason there are so many of them? Wouldn't it make more sense to just have one more general 'street art' message board, that concentrates all the activity, because it seems that is what this 'Banksy' board is right now. Maybe I am just missing something because I am new here.
On Nick Walker's recent surge, I for one can say I am glad he has gotten more popular, because otherwise I never would have heard of him, and I find I do enjoy his most recent work.
