D*Face, Shepard Fairey, Hebru Brantley, Nick Smith, by docean on Dec 2, 2018 16:09:53 GMT 1, I know Hebru Brantley print prices are all over the place, but I think that for Martha's Boys (17-color, 22x30" edition of 75 and original cost of $450) an average of previous sales is between $800 and $1050, given my research and opinion.
Thank you for the feedback, I’ll probably hang on to that one then.

D*Face, Shepard Fairey, Hebru Brantley, Nick Smith, by docean on Dec 1, 2018 13:15:35 GMT 1, Bro, my rule of thumb for Fairey prints is avoid ebay like prices and sell way cheaper than ebay lowest price. You can easily get a sale for that piece at 1100. Same for the Hebru, avoid asking double on the Hebru and aim to make 200on the resale for an easy sale. Ebay prices are 90% hype, that other 10% know what they are doing, "buy for a nickle sell for a dime" (not double, but just enough) Not to stick up for the seller as in general your comment about this isn’t ebay is valid, but I’ve been keeping an eye on the WV large format print and currently there are 4 on the bay...$1600 is the least expensive and the other 3 range in price from $1850-2000. If I’m not mistaken it sold primary for $950 + shipping so I don’t know thst the seller is out of line at an asking of $1400. Maybe you are confused with the smaller WV diptych which can be had for mid $400’s. Also not really sure I understand the need for people to police someone else’s thread with regard to price. I get that it’s a member based forum which I love but calling out someone’s price just doesn’t seem like a friendly thing to do unless it’s some idiot simply trying to flip something before the ink dries....unless it’s a Banksy of course as in that case everyone seems to be ok with I also get that maybe you’d like to buy the piece at cost, but typically speaking that’s not the way the world works, especially when it comes to an artist with work that has made it into the Smithsonian, etc. like Shep’s has. Just my 2 cents. Carry on.
Thx man. I think that guy is confused and thinks it’s the main edition diptych. And yes after shipping retail was about $1k. I believe you and I did a deal once and it went very smooth. If the XL is something you’ve had your eye on I’d be glad to work with you

Mine is not for sale. And the bozo who kept calling me coopcoop was proven to be incorrect.

Tons of Art For Sale, by docean on Jul 26, 2018 3:24:34 GMT 1, Hello everyone,
Putting up quite a bit for sale here, consolidating some old sales threads from ages ago and adding in new stuff. Very few situations where I want to trade but if you have any Parra or Peter Saul let's talk.
I live in the US and all prices include domestic shipping and insurance. I am cool with shipping international for cost. I have tons of references on here. Everything has been stored flat. Pictures available upon request.
1) Mr. Jago - "Cenote" $775 Edition of 75 84 x 86cm I believe this is one of the only screenprints he's done. The rest seem to have been giclees.
2) Shepard Fairey - "Damaged Stencil Set" (8 Prints) $750 Edition of 400 18" x 24" These are the signed set from the online release.
3) Shepard Fairey - "Tunnel Vision Set (Alternate)" $225 Edition of 700 - However one of the prints from my set is mislabeled x/400 (or my vision is just bad) 24" x 18" This was the set sent to people that ordered the original but it was oversold.
4) Shepard Fairey - "Welcome Visitor" Large Format XL $1650 Edition of 75 47.5" x 33.5" From what I can see this is cheaper than any currently for sale.
5) Shepard Fairey - "Liberte, Egalite, Fraternite" $4500 Edition of 450 18" x 24" Same image as the one hanging in French President Emmanuel Macron's office. I have original receipt as well, since there seem to be a lot of a**holes faking these.
6) Erik Jones - "Vessel" $100 Edition of 700 16" x 20"
7) Kai & Sunny - "Leaves of Light" $225 Edition of 100 22.4" x 29.9"
8) Rustam Qbic "Day and Night Handfinished" $300 (below cost) Edition of 20 ~27.5" x ~ 19.7" All of the coloring is hand done on this version.
9) Luke Chueh - "Whitewash" $400 Edition of 100 24" x 32"
10) Joel Rea - "Last Man Standing" $450 Edition of 100 ~20" x ~26" Perfect for anyone that works in finance or Wall Street.
Thanks for taking the time to look. If you have any questions feel free to message me. If you want to debate anything, toss it in the comments and let those free thread bumps roll in.

Pejac • A Forest Print, by docean on Jul 24, 2018 13:36:27 GMT 1, Seen this before. Forum is the only market. Members buy and hodl and try to palm off to the next person. Pejac not known outside this forum, so his exposure is limited. Hasn't got a gallery that goes to Art Basel, so the big collectors or curators will never see it. And because of that his work will never be legitimised. Also you dont see the important collectors flex his work. Because let's face it, Javelin Block or Midoustache aren't exactly movers or shakers at Art Basel or Frieze. And lastly, not even Phillips, the auction house bottom feeder will touch his stuff. It's a house of cards.
Could not have phrased this any better myself.

Pejac • A Forest Print, by docean on Jul 24, 2018 13:34:34 GMT 1, (Before I begin this rant, I’m not the guy above) I asked Max to buy a Pejac for 2 years. Every time he “noted my interest.” He finally sends me a catalog for the Paris show and I reply with dozens of pieces I’d be willing to buy. What do I get in return? “Sorry sold out.” He knows every piece would sell, why send the catalog to 300+ people for 40 pieces of art? F*ck that guy. He just manipulates the market to create hype and jack up prices for an artist nobody has ever heard of outside of here. Best thing I ever did was trade a Pejac I bought on secondary market for a real artist print; Marc Chagall. your post sounds quite bitter but also inconsequential/childish: at the end of your rant you are bashing the artist („...artist nobody ever has heard of outiside of here.“), although for the last two years you have been getting on max‘s nerves and on top wanted to buy/liked 12 different pieces from the waterline show... so do you like pejac‘s art or not (since paris)?
Of course I liked* his work. So much so that I was willing to overlook the fact that he’s an unknown, overhyped, Ikea artist and pay for his clever images. But if Max and Pejac want to run a circus of bullsh*t I can’t support that, and will steer clear. Or maybe I’ll wait til his bubble bursts (read: Miscallef) and pick up some prints for below retail.

Loads of art for sale, by docean on Jul 20, 2018 15:42:46 GMT 1, Hmmm, let's see, reasons your gallery is probably closed.... - incapable of making a coherent sales thread with any level of detail - defensive attitude when someone tells you the truth are these not the attributes of successful galleries, online or otherwise ?
That’s the point....

Did you graduate from Yale School of Business with an MBA? What’s that? You didn’t? Leave the guy alone. Your post is toxic and unnecessary. Why inject your personal philosophy? You’re not interested in buying. That’s pretty clear. Haven’t you got something else in your queue to do? Like, I dunno... get your va***a steamed? Get your nails done or go purse shopping?
Lol so much anger all because I pointed out the truth. Did you also have a gallery close because of piss poor sales skills? Or are you just naturally defensive of other stupid people like yourself?
Steaming is a new one, wasn’t aware that’s a thing. From your experience; what’s that like?

Snik large 1of 1 original new price!!, by docean on Jul 20, 2018 3:39:14 GMT 1, Love the background a lot. (kind of reminds me of Parla) but seeing how far Snik has come with shadowing and detail makes the rather simple face a detracting factor for me.
just my honest opinion (since you asked for it)
best of luck with your sale

Pejac • A Forest Print, by docean on Jul 19, 2018 12:37:17 GMT 1, Now that's a smart move. Congrats on your Chagall. Think is a very personal move. Absolutely different and time will say if really smart, not sure tbh.
Chagall has his own museum in France. Pejac isn’t even represented by a real gallery.
I’ll roll those dice all day.

up for sale is my “Day & Night” print from Rustam Qbic. All of the coloring is hand done, the detail is superb. Print is in perfect condition and has been stored flat since I received it.

Martin Whatson “Cover Up”, by docean on Apr 15, 2018 14:22:44 GMT 1, Agreed. Everyone on here is an expert in prints they don’t own. Didn’t realize I posted this in the appraisals section haha “Haha” Where else would you go to find a better collection of experts than a forum dedicated to urban art?
This is a sales thread, not a post asking everyone for their unwelcomed opinion.

Martin Whatson “Cover Up”, by docean on Apr 15, 2018 0:11:19 GMT 1, I've bought and sold quite a few pieces with the Miami gallery and had nothing but good dealings, I don't see why the OP can't list the piece at the price he wants for the piece, if you don't like his price then don't buy it. But no need to try and beat down the price.
Agreed. Everyone on here is an expert in prints they don’t own. Didn’t realize I posted this in the appraisals section haha

Martin Whatson “Cover Up”, by docean on Apr 13, 2018 17:59:29 GMT 1, the private sale on EB was entered by an EBer, Heller, who has entered A LOT of suspect sales that (imo) are way over market on a number of prints. i would treat it with a bit of skepticism. if it weren't a repeated pattern of setting print value highs, then i'd maybe more willing to "believe" the sale. however, the pattern makes me suspicious. just my 0.02. anyways, congrats on the new baby and house.... but sorry to hear about your job. GLWTS
I am open to hear offers to feel out the market on it.

Martin Whatson “Cover Up”, by docean on Apr 13, 2018 17:24:29 GMT 1, Hello looking to sell Martin Whatson “Cover Up” print. This is from the edition of x/30 that was never released to the public. All of the graffiti is hand done by Martin. Print is in perfect condition and framed to conservation standards. According to EB one just sold for $3k so I am looking for $2,750 obo. That includes domestic shipping, possibly international depending on where you are. (I’ll cover most places)

Why am I selling?
- new house - wife doesn’t like it - baby on the way - bigger than I imagined - second thoughts - need to fund new business - lost my job
pick any of the above that satisfies you.
