Affordable Swoon print Dec 9th Papermonster "Dawn and Gemma", by overend on Dec 6, 2014 15:00:54 GMT 1, Not a huge Swoon fan but I quite like this. I don't understand this forum sometimes. What on earth is wrong with this image? if you read carefully the comments, no one is commenting on how bad the image is. It just wont make my wall or nosnereb's.
I did read your comment thank you and wondered why it wouldn't make your walls?

Who is Pejac?, by overend on Dec 4, 2014 18:55:18 GMT 1, Hopefully purchased and not oversold. One of the better prints of a pretty poor print release year. Nice hand finished print for under £225 made it an no brainer. Pleased the flippers were put off by the negativity.

Dale Marshall 🇬🇧 Vermin • New Paintings • Exhibition News, by overend on Dec 1, 2014 22:47:32 GMT 1, I've carted a print and a book but can't buy them as there's no bloody checkout button!
Hope you got it sorted. That book is a bit of a bargain IMO. Lovely reminder of what was my personal favourite show of the year.

Best show of 2014, by overend on Nov 29, 2014 14:21:22 GMT 1, For me it was Dale Vn Marshall's Walls With Wounds at the Herbert, Coventry. Stunning show with an incredible body of work. Been great to read the feedback from a few people from outside our little urban art world who found inspiration from the show. Not an over-exaggeration to say that a few people found it a life changing experience.

Who is Pejac?, by overend on Nov 25, 2014 8:04:00 GMT 1, An urban art print that might not be pretty but at least is trying to say something. Guess if you are a ballerina with tags kind of person this will not appeal.

Grafter - one of the best artists out there, IMO, by overend on Nov 7, 2014 10:31:49 GMT 1, Love the Eskimo piece which I first saw at the Cans Festival. Think unlike most stencil artists nearly all his editions are hand sprayed not prints. Good guy to deal with.

Banksy - signed photos?, by overend on Nov 1, 2014 6:13:27 GMT 1, My recollection (not always to be relied upon) is that these were originally for sale at the Jerusalem santas ghetto. Could be wrong though. Wouldn't be the first time!
Sounds right. I too remember them being available at the POW open day. Seemed expensive at the time. Oops!

Banksy Girl With the Pierced Eardrum, by overend on Oct 22, 2014 4:19:37 GMT 1, Banksy's that rare beast. A street artist that isn't stuck in a rut, refuses to be pigeonholed (or parrotholed), does what he pleases and has a high success rate.
And doesn't feel the need to produce a print for every piece produced!

New Pøbel at ABC, by overend on Oct 19, 2014 19:52:30 GMT 1, I love this. But I am a norwegian. In Norway there is a big debate going on regarding offshore oil drilling in the Lofoten area, the same area where the fish breeds. Risking the fish for more oil. Dunno if that has anything to do with this image.. OK, so it is a political statement... Then it makes sense that people from that part of the world would understand it. None the less, it is a weak play on words, and the prices are nuts making it feel like a piece made solely to cash out in my opinion. Surely something this specific should not be selected by an artist as a multiple run of HPM's. If it was an actual poster* sold at a low price in order to further the debate, then I would not be opposed to it. Just my thoughts... * EDIT- by "actual poster," i mean high number run or open edition.
£750 for an original piece seems more than reasonable to me bearing in mind the standing of the artist.

Banksy Does New York - HBO documentary, by overend on Sept 12, 2014 8:54:09 GMT 1, I don't think Banksy ever needs to advertise ever again. He could fire Jo Brooks right now and would never have a problem with recognition for the rest of his life. Plus, if he wanted to cash-in after BOTI, he would have sold something. I think it was just him having some fun, and making some street pieces to put a smile on people's faces Its all about PR.
When Dali went to NY, people didn't care about him untill he smashed the shop window in the big department store where he had made a window exhibit.
It made the papers and brought him a lot of publicity which got converted into sales.
Isn't there a new edition of Marie Clair you should be quoting your facts from? Or have you moved up to Hello magazine?
