Congratulations Corbyn and Watson, by tartarus on Sept 12, 2015 18:44:22 GMT 1, added to 120 billion unpaid tax he says he will chase. Sounds like a pretty healthy budget to me. plus he won't be gifting contracts for the boys, and tax breaks for the rich. Its also unlikely he will be fighting 25 different wars at any one time. So the savings from his ethics are pretty huge as well.

Congratulations Corbyn and Watson, by tartarus on Sept 12, 2015 16:14:54 GMT 1, Suprising there are so many Corbyn fans on here considering how elitist collectiong urban/contemporary art has got. I'm not overly interested by politics but if someone gave me ยฃ50 to bet on the next government in 2020, I'd be pretty confident that today's vote has all but wrapped up another Tory majortiy. The bookies took the assumption your making, they started him at 100/1 to win. he ended up at 1/16 to win. The tory rhetoric is happily and as ever a mile from the view of the people and that has just been proven. Just because all you hear is negativity, doesn't dictate that will be the outcome, sometimes its just the background noise of bias.
We will see in the election and not before, but id say your assumption there is way off the mark.
Most importantly, he has empowered the people to actually FEEL politics is theirs to own if they want it. This is something most have lost ANY hope of and that may well bring out a phenomenal amount of previous non voters in the next election.

Congratulations Corbyn and Watson, by tartarus on Sept 12, 2015 14:04:08 GMT 1, Agree totally. best thing to happen in politics in my lifetime!!
And that was a huge win for first round. Which shows the massive potential he has to actually be elected. Think he will wake a huge part of the disenfranchised electorate and win back lost labour support. Not to mention the total change to the face of politics that now has a wholly different outlook.
Fantastic day!

BANKSY Curated Show "Dismaland" in Weston-super-Mare, by tartarus on Sept 10, 2015 23:13:44 GMT 1, Graffiti kings on Facebook are doing a like n share comp with 5 sets of free VIP tickets. Probably just reduced my chances of winning, but I'm looking after George the dog so probably not going to get there anyway. Good luck all, i say. You're hanging out with George? You lucky bugger. Give him a stroke from me. Done. He looked kinda pissed that you woke him up though.ย
Jus chillin

Still assuming without witnesses etc its all just blowing smoke, but if i heard that, i wouldn't be sleeping tonight!

ON NOW : Watch Shepard Fairey Live Court Trial, by tartarus on Sept 1, 2015 17:09:10 GMT 1, So far they have no witness, no complaint from the building owner, no proof it couldn't have been done by someone else, and a sketchy assumption from the article that could be read to say its cool to hit illegal walls but better to hit the system from inside. Ie consensual art placement. It didn't actually say he was going to do illegal art, just that he was going to do art.
I thjink he's going to get off.

Advice needed: Drymounted print, by tartarus on Aug 26, 2015 9:55:32 GMT 1, Has anyone got any before and after photos? Would be interesting to see the difference. How does it work if a framer damages your print? Do you allow them to work on your print at your own risk? Or do they have insurance to cover the value of the print? Definatly not!!! They aren't trustable as a framer if they just messed up your print. And they sure as hell aren't a conservator now are they. Make them pay for the restorer instead.

Banksy Laugh Now Print, by tartarus on Aug 8, 2015 19:50:21 GMT 1, Still searching for a Laugh Now , someone - somewhere -please put me out my misery! If you have failed to secure one of these prints or canvases over an extended period of time, then it may be worth reconsidering your approach. It seems a recurring complaint by sellers on this forum relates to time-wasters: people who initially engage, express keen interest, perhaps even agree to a sale, only to then vanish off the map โ or acknowledge that sufficient funds are no longer (or never were) available. When reading 'In search of' posts, I suspect a concern for plenty of art owners looking to sell is the hassle of having to deal with individuals who allow themselves to publicly indulge in some perpetual pipe dream. This risk of wasted effort and time probably discourages many sellers and also potential sellers from bothering to contact original posters on these threads, perhaps opting instead to sell through dealers or auction houses. Although it means having to disclose your hand, if you're genuinely committed to acquiring a Banksy piece in what currently appears to be a seller's market, then (besides confirming, as you've already done, the specific image you're after) a no-doubt more effective method of going about it would be to state: (i) in the case of prints, if you are seeking signed or unsigned, or either; (ii) if a Pest Control certificate of authenticity is a prerequisite (I'd strongly advise that it be a prerequisite); (iii) whether you're looking for a piece that's framed or unframed, or either; (iv) the worst condition level you'd be prepared to accept; and (v) most importantly โ to demonstrate you're a serious buyer and not some fantasist โ the ceiling price you'd be willing to pay, depending upon condition (and other factors like size or medium, in the case of originals). Make sure the figure you mention in (v) is one you can actually afford to pay, and to pay immediately. [There's no better way to alienate a seller than to agree to a sale, only to then divulge you need a few more months to raise the cash because you first have to offload a collection of Mr Brainwash, Martin Whatson and JJ Adams prints.] Good luck with the continued search. Most patronising post ever prize goes to........

Banksy Love Rat Print, by tartarus on Aug 7, 2015 23:15:14 GMT 1, Call me suspicious here, but aren't Paypal refunds instant? Or has he initiated a refund from an account he knows has no money in it, which paypal will then cancel? Im not sure of why it wouldn't be an instant refund. I could be missing something, and maybe someone else can explain it? Just reminds me of all the Echeque payments I've had that just hang until paypal cancel them as there were no funds available. Based on my own experience PayPal refunds are definitely not instant by any means Yeah i fully agree. But the seller initiated this, so here is no paypal process involved. I do a lot of paypal transactions, and when i refund a buyer, as long as there are funds in either paypal or my bank, its instant.

At least Pest Control will have the details now on the seller for their records! Call me suspicious here, but aren't Paypal refunds instant?
