Hi, bit off the mark with urban art but i'm sure some of you are fans of M.C. Escher aswell. I am looking to buy one of his woodcuts called Fishes in Waves.
Anybody got one for sale? know of pricing or any idea where i could find one?
thanks.

yup, prepare to dig deep for this. Have been doing some research myself and prepare to pay 10k plus for some weak stuff.. For nice stuff, the roof is the limit.
For me the search ended very soon, as I dont have that amount of cash, I really hope you have some more to spend!

check out a guy named Jeffrey Price at a gallery called the Artist Market in Norwalk CT USA. Excellent guy to work with and if anyone can get a particular escher it is him. Prices were not auction price but they are better than any other gallerist selling escher.

also, fishes in waves is a small print, I would gather that a price around $5000.00 would be able to land it. A few years ago (2010) I saw one for sale at $4700. The big money is for the larger woodcut prints but there is plenty of smaller stuff that is available for less than 10 K such as the emblemata prints and the regular divion of the plane prints. good luck.

thanks for the input everybody, looks like i have managed to land one, yes the print itself is rather small so primetime's estimate are thankfully closer to the mark.
