I actually really like the black one. I think it will look incredible in person but I'm not prepared to pay $1,900. Especially considering the red one is $300 cheaper for a lower edition size.

For the low edition that isnt far off of what slightly older FAILE releases were. Warriors of the Night release - edition of 24 was $2,000 . that was a more complex print I would think.. but shows the pricing on the low edition prints has been high for a few years.. ( forgive the sample of 1 )

In my opinion, this may be the weakest and laziest studio Faile release I've seen. Lame. "Hey man, remember everyone wanted sub rosa? Let's just bang out a bunch of those and call it a day" isn;t the second bit almost the story of lots of their images? if faile were so popular, they'd be really unpopular ;D

Hold on a minute guys.....
This image has become the most requested print for the last year or so. After its publicity at the PNB show many forumites said 'it would be amazing as a print release' and 'why don't Faile listen to their fans'.
This is exactly what they have done!!
They have released this amazing image as Prints and Originals. Why should they release it at $400 for people to immidiately flip for $2000?
By pricing it this way they will be bought by those who love it (if they can get one!) and I believe this will be the desirable print from the last 2 years and be coveted as much as the Butterfly Girl print.

what did you expect? I think that prices are high but right. Fashion Chimps was an edition of 300 for $800! these are double price but editions of only 26 and 18...

actually , for that low edition that isnt far off of what some of the older FAILE releases were. As I recall Warriors of the Night release - edition of 24 was $2,000 . that was a more complex print I would think.. but shows the pricing on the low edition prints has been high for a few years.. ( forgive the sample of 1 ) I'm not having a go at you, but I find it funny when people use words like 'older'. back in the day is was $200 for an edition of 12, and that was when you almost got $2 to the £1. happy dayz....

Pricing is spot on (if not lower) than what I was expecting. Love Sub Rosa and still trying for one.

why is the lower edition print less pricey? Time for bed, nearly 2:30am. because it has only one (probably two?) colour layer(s) while the black one at least 4?

Stops the flippers, most people will be just annoyed they can't make the usual money on a print from sitting on their super fast broadband while at work.

For what its worth I like these......the prices are retail IMO, no discount for the fans. No one is going to flip them so they will go to genuine fans. Still it akes it hard for a "normal" fan to afford their work. Maybe a larmger edition next time????

This is IMHO quite a good price. Originals for that low a price and the small editions are not pricey. If I was in the market for another faile right now I would get amongst it. Im sure the OG look stunning in real life when you see the quality of all the colour layers.

I have no issues with the Sub Rosa prints. Would have like to have seen more prints. Price point seems right.

think its a bit hard to tell how much work has gone into these without seeing some better pics. I bet they look as lovely as nearly all Failes do. They released the image that most people wanted, and although its expensive I don't think its out of line with their pricing. Yes they've got pricier over the years but shouldn't they? - they're bloody talented and hard working artists!!! People would be moaning like mad if something other than Sub Rosa had popped up... Much much prefer this style to any of the blocky paper monster releases. Just same as a lot of people on here the subject matter doesn't do it for me. Bit too much of a teenage masturbation fantasy for my walls I'm afraid!!
Personally i'm not looking to buy every Faile going, just "the right one" and fingers crossed it will be next up.
