I'm totally impartial here but just can't agree with what you've said. You've oversold and had to refund existing customers who will quite naturally be disappointed. Then you drop another edition of prints on an ad hoc basis, essentially giving it the old two fingers (no offence) to those who you've just let down. Doesn't sound like very good customer service to me. releasing a second "secret" edition, more limited and more valuable right after the first one (with people that got refunded) is questionable, but again offering it to who missed out would have been totally unfair. it's like offering a planitum medal for a 4th place.

Fair point - and I respect your view. I just know that I would feel let down by being refunded and then see others preferred to me.....
I'd rather be on the podium that pushed off of it.

It has just started to set in how bummed I am to have missed this. Prints that you would like to own come by with regularity, but those special prints rarely do. And this was one of those special prints for me...
At an edition of only 35 the disappointment was inevitable, but it still really sucks!
Nevertheless, congrats to all those lucky enough to score one! I am very envious!

I agree with everything you said. 8 hours later and it hurts more than it did when I hit submit payment and it was gone. This will be difficult to shrug off.

Would have loved one of these excellent prints... Was as fast as I could be with the details but missed it! Congrats to those that scored one. Seeing as there is so much love for DALeast on the forum right now, I thought I'd share one of his paintings that graces my wall. It's from the 'Hybrid Thinking' group show curated by Wooster Collective. The piece is called 'Dressing Strips AA' and the medium is ink, acrylic and tea on canvas. Words can't describe how much I like it, DAL is a very talented artist and his work looks absolutely fantastic in the flesh

Just noticed its from rtist , that is one gallery I would never do business with... Bought something from them that went missing in the post, promised me a refund then stopped replying to my emails and would put the phone down when they realised it was me... Had to take it to the next level with my credit card to get a full refund... P!ss takers to say the least

I hope DALeast changes his direction when it comes to print edition. His prints is very affordable, but unfortenaly impossible to obtain. His originals are also affordable, but for those with a bigger wallet. I really hope he bumps his edition up to 200-250 next time. Ive been trying in all ways to get anything from him, but originals are just out of my price class. Crossing my fingers for a big release next time.
Really like this guy. Artist of the year category 2012.

I doubt very much that he'll change his view on the edition size. Unless you want a large edition, mediocre print with no part played by the artist apart from signing their name. What makes these desirable is the fact the artist has painstakingly hand-finished with love and attention and are pretty much an original for the price of budget print. I'm sure everyone who has some of his work agrees, those who don't share your viewpoint. Certainly one of the standout artists of the last year or so and probably one of the best print releases as well.
