This is a hand-signed 4" x 6" postcard print from the "Guerrilla Art Army" show by Michael Leavitt in Seattle, 2006. The full-color, unframed laser print is on heavy, semigloss cardstock. The image is a promotional photo taken by Leavitt of his "Banksy Art Army" original, 10" tall sculptural work. This is the one-off Banksy action figure toy Leavitt sculpted from scratch, along with his 'museum heist' diorama replete with 'You are under surveillance' signage and CCTV camera.
This BLVD/RoqLaRue Gallery show was instrumental in Leavitt's long-running series of shows with his hand-sculpted "Art Army" fully-articulating, one-off action figures. "The Guerrilla Art Army", staring Banksy's action figure, had a graffiti history theme which included Leavitt's hand-made, posable figurines of luminaries such as: Shepard Fairey, Basquiat, DONDI, SEEN, Futura, Barry McGee, Lady Pink + more.
Mike is a Seattle based most widely known for his "Art Army" hand-made artist action figures, fully custom wedding cake toppers, and cardboard "Hip Hopjects". His work is in the private permanent collections of Eddie Vedder, Geena Davis and Nike President Mark Parker, and has been featured in New York Magazine, Los Angeles Magazine, The Huffington Post, Marie Claire Italy, Elle Magazine Indonesia, HDTV "Attack of the Show" and CBC Radio. Leavitt shows in New York, London, Taipei, Barcelona, Vancouver B.C. and throughout the U.S.
Just want to get this straight.. you are asking for a $400 for a photograph of a plastic model of something that looks nothing like banksy's 'monkey' image, but does look rather like a 7' inspector gadget.
actually, no i'm not 'asking' for anything. i listed a buy-it-now price for fun & curiosity. i had no serious expectations that it'd sell for that price. if you're noticing the details, you'll see that there was no reserve price. so now that it's got the starting pid of 1-cent, it's literally dirt cheap considering Free Worldwide Shipping. it's just a bit of fun here to see what happens. sorry if i offended anyone with a buy-it-now price that's now completeley invisible, obsolete and irrelevent.
must say that I was ready to pay more than $1.25 for this as I saw your works before and I really like the concept (I especially like J. Fish, Craola, and Murakami).. but the BIN price gave me the feeling this is gonna go nasty, so I didn't even bother bidding..

paulagibbs: From someone who used to build websites, this site is not easy to navigate, and all those flashing ads at the top are annoying and rather low-end looking. I am guessing the only people who are going to visit are artists trying to sell their art.
