Quick question.
Love the HPM's but am v. unsure about pricing.
The recent ones with Jamie Reid on board are going for 7000 US from source, but lots on secondary market go for less than this....
Does the price of 7000 means that all secondary's have shot up in value or is my idea of secondary pricing way out??
thanks

Lots of different sizes of HPMs from edition size and medium. Also the Reid HPMs are collaborative so I not sure how that effects the price.
I would be pretty sure (have not followed recently) that all fine art pieces are dearer on the secondary market. I would also add that his prices vary massively depending on the image (just as it should be with art).
HPMs on paper/wood the last time I checked were as follows.
HPM LPs paper (41"x 41") - $8k primary (secondary $10/$16k) HPM on paper (54" x 38") - $10k primary (secondary $12/18k) HPM on paper (44" x 29") - $9.5k primary (secondary $12/18k) HPM screened wood (18"x24") - $3.2k primary (secondary $6/10k) HMP LPs (12"x12") - $2.2k primary (secondary $3/$5k)
The Reid HPMs on paper were $7k unframed and $7.5k framed. I think they might have been smaller that the 44" x 29" quoted above so that would mean that primary would appear to have taken a jump up. You would need to confirm the sizes.
Just remember with Shep image has a huge impact on price.

Couldn't afford 7k... so went for the $700 Pink/Orange Bright Future. Would have loved the HPM though!

So, is 7K a good price for these HPM's ??? Does the fact that it is a collaboration make it more or less attractive????

From a collectors point of view I mean...Shep collecting has weird protocols that I do not understand....for some reason some prints and HPM's are worth a lot whilst others with the same edition size are not...that is what I'm asking bazza...I think I just phrased it very poorly!!

For pretty much the same price I'd rather get the large format album cover available at the following link. www.copronason.com/jux18/IMO, album covers (especially ones like this) will be much more iconic pieces of Shepard Fairey art than these sorts of collaboration pieces. Somewhat akin to what the soup cans were to Warhol.
