Hey all,
I have recently sent off for a Pest Control COA and am now thinking of doing the same for a few more I own. I have however been told ( not by PC ), that i may well end up waiting around 3 months plus for them to get back to me!!?. Is the POW authentication process the same thing and just sent off to PC or are they 2 different bodies? Thanks all, Sanch

Same and delay really varies on how busy they are...

It will also depend on how tricky the authentication is.
For example, if you didn't buy your print from the registered owner then authentication will be more difficult. You may need to take the piece to POW's offices and leave it there for a while unitl the artist can have a look at it. The time it then takes to authenticate will depend on how busy Mr B is :/
But if your the original owner and the print was registered in your name then it should be fairly quick as it's just a case of matching records up.

Thanks Silvermyn, I am the original owner on most of my Banksy's save a few unsigned. This is the first time I am getting COA's as I am trying to fund a Nola. Hopefully they will turn the first one around pretty quick.

Getting 2 authenticated just took me 3 months.... but that was partly due to their emails to me getting junked by hotmail!!

Ive just had a few done. On average they took around 3 weeks to complete, but I did have to send one into POW to have it looked at.
They've always been done in a pretty reasonable amount of time in my experience, but as a previous member has stated, mine all had relatively uncomplicated backgrounds, and I had all the relevant provenance to backup the applications for COAs.

It's not been a month yet so hoping for some news soon!. Should be straight forward as I am the only owner and also sent through the original correspondence from POW.

the whole process for my print took 11 months! - no joke...
but check your spam folder... as one of their emails wound up in there... and pushed my date back 3-4 months....
if you get it done in 3-4 months I would say you are doing great!

I just received an email today saying a print of mine is ready for collection. (Second owner/not registered in my name/problems regarding numbering of print/PCO mislaying my COA...etc!!)
Whole process from my first email after sending the print down to them, to their last email saying it was ready for collection took 6 weeks. I emailed PCO at least once a week, asking if there had been any progress this week, how you getting on with my print etc.
All in all, 1st class service, and all for the price of a stamp or 2

Hey Sancho,
I sent one off about 4 weeks ago. Got the reply within a week to say it had been authenticated (it was bought from the original owner).
However, about a week later I got an email to say that they were waiting on delivery of more COA's and it would be another couple of weeks before they send it out. It's not arrived yet, but I'm sure it'll be any time soon.
Even with the slight delay they seem to be getting them done quite quickly at the moment.

Thanks all,
Just pinged an email out to them and will probably follow lebdel's move & email them every week. Do they charge you £50 once its been authenticated and send the 'DiFace style ' authentification ?. I quite like the idea of all my Banksy prints having this authentication ( although it'll be costly at £50 a pop!), better than some of the certificates you get - and much better than a rubbish invoice as authentication ( Other Criteria ) !.

They authenticate and register the print for free, if you want the cert it costs £50. Depends if you want to fork out for the COA or not, if you are planning on keeping the print, no need really.

Seems a mish mash really. I had them contact me to confirm I'd sold. I said no its on the wall. I then said, probably best I cert it, they said no charge on this one (nice one). It's now been 5 months and a month ago they said it would be sent on the next run, they have been in contact intermittently though. It dawned on me they might not have address etc. Sent that this week, hope to get cert soon. Not moaning, just showing a case where they approached me and it's taken 5 months and counting to get a cert, so patience is key.
On the plus side, at least whoever was trying to get the fake certified was caught out, so massive respect to them for everything they've done, would be nice to get the cert though but could just as easily be my fault on the delay.

Here's what I received back from PC following a request for a COA. "Certificates of Authentication are dispatched within two weeks of receiving payment. We are having a slight delay on the delivery of COAs at the moment but this should be sorted for next week." Hopefully it'll be in the post soon

I put a request in at the beginning of March and am still waiting now. Got some questions back from them pretty quickly and answered them but now nothing... Anyone else got one recently?

I'm having the same problem. I am emailing them but have heard no response. I have to say how can people run a business like this. Very frustrating

I submitted an ownership change request 4 weeks ago, and got an email from them last week asking me (the purchaser) and the previous owner to confirm the sale of the print. We have both replied so I'm assuming that PC are satisfied the print and accompanying cert are genuine.
Now waiting for the confirmation of the ownership change, as per previous experience.
4 week pales into insignificance though when you're talking about 4 months+...

Some of my prints have been with them since January (one for Mr B, a couple being renumbered etc).
In a way, it's a relief to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing delays. As long as the system stays water-tight then I suppose the delays are worth having.

put a coa request September 29th. Got a mail telling me it was authenticated and a requested payment for the COA on October 27th. So 1 month. That was not too bad.
I haven't physically received the COA in the mail yet, but hopefully within 14 days as stated in the confirmation email.
