Whats the story here tim...Shep had a Metal Sale on his site? All I know is the guy posted shep gave him the screens, then said it is too slick looking  never got back to him? What an arrogant move, so the dude said ok sell them to make his money back is what I am thinking! His Emek stuff is outstanding those are S/N by EMEK.. Will wait and see how this plays out!! Glad I got one! Really tried posting link on here for others but I was unable too! They were 250  Talked to peter on phone about two hours ago, secured mine!!! Can't wait to see this.... will post pics when it arrives! DOn't really care is shep signs them, like I said earlier shep gave hime the screens to make then turned him down and never got back to him. So betting he is just trying to get his money back. Think it cost about 200 in material and labor to make a metal print? Think that is what Chuck Sperry said his cost to produce? SO he gets his money back and us fans get a cool piece of art! |

$250 bootlegs. I feel bad for the folks that bought these thinking they had bought an authentic Fairey. Fairey did not give the seller permission to sell after Fairey didn't like the final product.

They were test pieces created for Shep 3 years ago and supposedly no one got back to him.
They are not signed or numbered, nor do they come with any provenance.
BUT.... some of them looked good and for $250 you are getting a Shep test piece on metal.
IMO It is not a bootleg (ie a banksy canvas from Camden market for £10), but nor it is an 'official' Shep piece.
So i guess it falls into an area of a test piece that is not meant to be sold. For a big Shep fan it's a nice piece to own, frame and hang.
Does anyone have the image of them they can post up?

Not a bad deal then with all that considered. The story itself is provenance for the history of them.

Just got an email from the printer number 8 is mine see pic below! Being shipped today! Pete the printer just posted this!! Peter, I like the way the prints on metal look. However, they are a little too slick for what I want in my "art" pieces. I have been printing on aluminum that has been sanded, dipped in a blackening solution, and then printed with matte acrylic inks. I'm going to dip the samples you sent me in blackening solution to see how they look. I am glad to pay for these two samples. If I like the way they look blackened I may order more. Seems pretty bad of the printer to be selling these, and worse to make private emails public.
If I was an artist I wouldn't trust them with my artwork!
