A major exhibition to celebrate the 80th birthday of the godfather of Pop Art, Sir Peter Blake, bringing together important paintings, collages and prints from across his career. A major exhibition to celebrate the 80th birthday of the godfather of Pop Art, Sir Peter Blake, bringing together important paintings, collages and prints from across his career. Peter Blake has been closely linked with pop music since the 1950s. Not only has he painted images inspired by his musical heroes such as Elvis Presley, The Beatles and Bo Diddley but he has also worked closely with musicians and bands including Oasis, The Who and Eric Clapton to create some of the most iconic album covers of the last 50 years. This exhibition draws on the extensive collection of British Pop Art at Pallant House Gallery and will feature loans from public and private collections across the UK. Thanks for the shout, Peter Blake is my favourite artist i just wish i could afford more of his work, sounds like a great show and on my doorstep..result.

I had the fortune of meeting him 2 years ago at london art fair, people say you shouldnt meet your idols for fear of dissapointment but i can honestly say he was fantastic and couldnt of chatted long enough until i mentioned chelsea..

Thanks for the heads-up on these. Mine just turned up an they are fantastic - iconic imagery, embossed sig on the back and a signed and numbered edition card. And Pallant are great to deal with too. |
