Just had this in from The Outsiders....sorry can't upload pic at the moment.
BAST - Dalston Unitooth (2011) Hand-painted screen print in 21 colours including 22-carat gold leaf Painted and printed on Somerset tub-sized satin 310gsm archival paper Edition of 10 signed by the artist 96cm x 77cm £500
Cult favourite BÄST is synonymous with his native New York and lauded for his work with street art collective Faile and fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Made and printed entirely by BÄST’s own hand at The Outsiders’ dedicated Execution Dock studio, ‘Dalston Unitooth’ is a psychedelic impression of NYLON, the Trans-Atlantic dimension where the hipsters of America and Europe come together. Each giant screen print features eighteen colours applied by BÄST himself using oil paints and acrylics. This includes 22-carat gold leaf adroitly applied upon the 'unitooth' itself. Only three of the twenty-one colours are applied with a silk screen press. Splendidly off-beat, 'Dalston Unitooth' is inspired by BÄST's distinctive 'Scenario Del Rio' exhibition at The Outsiders Newcastle last year. Gnaw upon the photos of BÄST painting 'Dalston Unitooth' in The Outsiders news.
'Dalston Unitooth' goes on sale at 16:00 GMT Thursday 16th February (that’s 08:00 on the west coast of the USA, 11:00 on the east coast and 17:00 on continental Europe) online at The Outsiders shop.

He seems to have a very distinctive style and then there are these pieces - some bast pieces I absolutely love and others just don't do anything for me...

I'm confused about BAST prices. www.theoutsiders.net/item/5711,aeroflot Aeroflot - 93 cm x 84 cm - 2 colours screen print - ed. 10 - £450 www.theoutsiders.net/item/5950,dalston-unitooth Dalston Unitooth - 96.2cm x 77cm - 21 colours hand painted / gold leaf - ed. 10 - £500 is the first one overpriced or the second one underpriced?

I think for the amount of work involved, the 2nd is way under priced. It may be a case that they know that his Senario Del Rio style pieces are less popular than his other styles and so are compensating with the price.
I can't make my mind up with this, i'm not a great fan of this style but I love Bast's work. Hmmm tricky.

Big Fan of bast, Not particularly fussed on this one though. Any thoughts on where the gold leaf may be located? Good luck to all wanting to buy one, I am looking forward to seeing how they look when people have received them. The colours might "pop" a bit more in real life, Pictures make the colors look a little to pastel for my taste.

3 colours screen-printed, 18 colours hand painted?
Sounds like a HPM rather than a print...and good value.

Do you think Dalston represents the UK, is the "country club" our relationship with the US, and are there troops being dropped into shark infested waters? War on terror maybe?

Not a fan of any of his pieces that have this pastel like coloring. Reminds me of beach town condo generic art. Just to the colors not the concept. Maybe hang it in a nice sea shell frame.
And I am a huge bast fan. Do a variant with his normal coloring and I'm a taker.

Less, as soon as the button appeared it was gone. I still think the "French Kiss" is a more iconic image, incredible it hasn't sold out!

Not as ugly as some of the work I have seen on here but I still wouldn't want it anywhere near my walls.
