About the artist: Christopher Ilth (1976, Chicago/USA) began making collage, by hand, during the winter of 2005. In the neighborhood of west Pilsen in an apartment without heat the first collage was born. Later it would be printed as the cover of the 2nd Functional Blackouts lp "the severed tongue speaks for everyone" (Ilth's band at the time). Also, on the flip of this record the 2nd collage (Untitled #60) was made at the local psych ward Ilth worked at from midnight to 8am. Note: at this time his right hand was in a caste after dislocating a bone. From then on it has been the obsession of Christopher Ilth to unlock the doors that hold the tombs yet unborn within and materialize these into forms through the medium of collage.
