This Street Art is folk
His name is Rae: no connections with the italian Rae Martini who recently published the book 24 Carat Dirt. This Rae works in New York, with a 'folsky' style. He moves from conventional writing to abstract pop. This is what bonds him to a folk imaginary, street installations with shopping cart parts or street sign leftovers. We ask him: "How many installations you left around NYC?". "About sixty, even if many of them have been removed, stolen or destroyed" answers the artist. When we ask him who are his models he answers: "My favourite artists are the people we don't call 'artists'. For example local television disgusting ads producers, or homeless who seem some fashion people". Born in Brooklyn, Rae is currently a star on the streets of Manhattan even if noone knows is face yet.

Very nice. I can't believe you painted the tree. I guess it's a good job nobody parked their car in front of it while you were painting.
