Due to popular demand, Joe Black is releasing a reworked version of his “No More Heroes” triptych. www.mrjoeblack.com/Am I the only one who is pissed off? I don't spend nearly £700 on three limited editions of 12 by what I would call an unestablished artist only for them to be re-released a year later in editions of 7 with the only difference being a dollop of gold leaf. I've had nothing but pleasurable experiences with Joe Black but for me, this latest move kills them.

Got to agree with you there. Liked his work though first time I had seen.
Think it is very naughty. Especially as the Gold leaf is not exactly a complete change but just a cross and dollop as you say.
Similar conversation going on about the Eine single canvass's although I am not so put off there but this is out of order in my opinion. You should send him a note on it.

Glad to hear you guys were pissed when you saw this. He seems like a nice guy and I have a few of his prints, but to re-release a previous edition at a smaller edition size with minor changes is like a slap in the face!

Thats a proper piss take, its hardly iconic, its hardly changed much, and its just a bit of quick money.
Pricey print for a relatively unknown graphic designer.

It is a real shame isoross, I agree with both how brill Joe Black has been and how weak it is to release the rework. On a positive note his 'Made in China' og is insane. Made up of 5500 toy soldiers.

Relieved to hear I'm not the only one. Received a few PM's from disgruntled owners too. It's wrong on so many levels. Besides the immorality from a limited edition point of view, call me old fashioned but I see buying any form of art as patronage. To support and encourage an artist to move forward. This is just plain insulting.

Yep, think I might be throwing my toys out of the pram as well. I must admit to really liking them though. Email him and ask for a partial refund, he will probably tell you to ''go forth'' but I'd be tempted to give it a shot.
