I met the lady who said she owned this. Worked at Ink_d in Brighton. Said she kept it behind the wardrobe as she was scared it would get stolen...
Surprised she doesn't offer it for sale at auction, surely this piece would go for tens of thousands?

I personally wouldn't rule out auction house route with an iconic piece like this, pretty sure you could barter a very good deal in terms of fee's

Great piece.... id take it to auction. Has to be the only way to get a fair price, as there really isnt anything to reference it with it terms of a private sale

Would have thought this would go for north of 30k GBP but how far is anybodies guess, would love this on the wall but would have to take one of my jboys down to make room for it, so wont bother!

In that case I'm willing to double the stakes and offer £60 right now to secure the deal. Offer expires in the next five minutes.....

30k easy I was thinking over 50 if went in the right auction with the right buyers . But if she doesn't want to go down that road my max would be 15k - 20k. Unless she would want some prints to make up the diffence

I'd take it to auction if it were mine, regardless of fees. DD is one of Micallef's iconic works. I know it's not visually his best (IMO) but DD and 21C girl were the ones everyone wanted when he started to cause a stir back in 05/06. I'm sure it would fly at auction.

scary merde.
to the auction house for this one - one of Mic's finest works (sorry Parasite notwithstanding).
much as I have mixed thoughts about this place - here is not the place.... this ain't no party when it comes to this work.

she missed her shot. With the Micallef show coming up, Laz certainly would have bid this up to raise his own stock. After the show itll be lucky to get 30k us or gbp, take your pic. Regardless of what people thought in 05-06, it IS a sub par work for the artist.

I would think this would make £30k at auction. Once the auction house has taken it's cut the seller would be left with £24k. Private sale would be between £20-25k in my opinion. I realise that Laz prices at the new show for this size would be about £50-60k but i still couldn't see this piece topping £30k in auction. That said i think it's a stunning painting by just about the best painter out there.

it'd go for £££££££'s surely?
