Think he means that writing a number on the receipt, but not the print is strange... does seem kinds pointless to me.

Could have been done for a number of reasons. Firstly, maybe they wanted to make sure they done enough prints for those who paid (although saying that some apparently went home empty handed). Secondly it could be done just as another way to identify someone's purchase if they lost their receipt.
I agree it is odd indeed.

Charming Baker London Show, by fingerz on Jul 24, 2011 13:04:17 GMT 1, On payment they were giving edition numbers which were written on the receipts but didn't write on the actual print. Not seen that before. Amazing print for ยฃ75. I would guess next week will be very busy as it's the last opportunity
and by next week people will realise how flippable thay are .....

Charming Baker London Show, by nipper on Jul 25, 2011 10:42:41 GMT 1, Some interesting interpretations on here in the numbering. Let me help clear that up. The numbers on the receipts were so Jealous knew how many they had sold. They sold 105. Charming took a few extra ad a few were held back due to errors/ marks and for the staff. It may well be that 120 were printed though. That is not the same number as was printed on each previous Saturday. The first weekend was 63 and the second weekend was not counted.
They are un-numbered editions. There was never any intention to number them as far as I am aware. As I say, numbers on receipts were there for Jealous to keep track of how many they had sold. You got to keep the receipt so if you wanted to call that the number I guess you could but it won't be in any way 'official' as a numbered edition.
This is all a bit of fun for Charming and Jealous and they really enjoy people coming in to the exhibition despite it being the third weekend in a row. This weekend clearly got more busy so was harder work for the Jealous team so some friends got co-opted in too.
I was there until about 4pm when the last print wad sold. I'm not aware anyone went away empty-handed unless people turned up after that time. It had slowed up considerably before I left.
If it helps, I was the guy putting the prints in the bags at the table Charming was signing at - and doing so very carefully!

Thanks for the info on numbers printed and thanks for the care taken to avoid damage to the prints. Said it before but I'll say it again that CB and the Jealous team deserve a pat on the back for looking after all sizes of pockets at this show.

The second week the printer allegedly cut out 104 pieces so it would be less then that. I think that the first week it was 63 for sale plus or so were 20 held back to be given as gifts etc.

Charming Baker London Show, by nipper on Jul 25, 2011 20:12:08 GMT 1, Motor- definitely a total of 63 printed on the first weekend. I was there when they were counted after the print run was finished. There wasn't such a big demand that weekend so there were a fair few left afterwards. Charming did take some and Jealous had the rest but I suspect they have all gone now though.

Charming Baker London Show, by simonf on Jul 28, 2011 21:35:33 GMT 1, I agree - rabbit prints look good value given the lower editions. Been thinking about a couple of bunnys for a while - almost got them at the RA print fair, but went for BirdII instead because it was hand finished, but pulled the trigger on them (ha ha no pun!) last night ('out of my misery' and 'better than I am') ironically the 'Ignorant' one was my least favoured. Picked up a nightmare dog as well @ ยฃ75 as I am not sure they will be around for much longer and st the price is serious VFM. Could be wrong but there seems to be a bit of a Charming Bubble building at the moment and I lost out on a 'shot in the a*se' so didn't want to lose again because of my indecisiveness.
I agree with you, it seem a bit strange that those bunnies from 2010 are still unsold at ยฃ250. www.jealousgallery.com/artist.asp?ID=90&F=Top%20artist
Art republic have the ยฃ75 black dog print for sale in brighton for ยฃ500 framed. the cheeky monkeys!

Your spidey sense is still working Winter. I think of them as two pairs blue and pink easier to collect!
Good call Atom, I dont think that option is any longer available we probably have all enquired ! Up on Charming's twitter earlier Final ยฃ75 Saturday silkscreen (30/07/11) 1-3pm at EVERY THING MUST GO, 16 Mercer St, WC2 9QE

Charming Baker London Show, by speebe on Jul 30, 2011 20:30:11 GMT 1, Picked up a print today... Mr Baker was Charming by name and in person.
The show was busy and prints were selling well, much bigger run this time.
People were being told not to buy more than one, but in the same breath they were also told to pop back if they wanted to buy more.
Without a doubt...This edition will be the most flipped on the bay.
